I was thinking about the absence of the gods during the WotL. So, can magic exist during WotL? If yes, from who is it provided?

Clerical magic doesn't work, although the magic of wizards does because the moon gods have not actually gone away. Of course, neither had any of the other gods, but they stopped providing magical power and removed all of their clerics from the world just before the Cataclysm.

This is different from the situation in the early Age of Mortals following the Chaos War, because in that case Krynn was stolen by Takhisis and taken to a place where she was the only god (and she didn't even make this apparent for decades.) Without any of the gods, not even the magic of wizards worked, which is why the mystics and sorcerers came about, drawing on the magic of Krynn itself, left over from its creation.

Cheers,
Cam

There was also the fact that Chaos had been released and left some of his energy around when he was defeated or misplaced Krynn. That is a whole other subject though.

Actually, there is a clarification that needs to be stated. Prior to the War of the Lance, dark clerics had their powers. Goldmoon brings back knowledge of the gods of God, along with Elistan. The Gods of Balance come in later.

This is only on Ansalon.

Time of the Dragon. The Dragonlance Nexus might also have info on it.

It is nowhere near as long as the Ansalon timeline, having about 20 timestamps in all. But yes it is in the Time of the Dragon supplement.

Points in time. Like 321 AC - War of the Lance.

341 AC - Summer of flame.

Yada, yada, yada.
