I never got the book that contains the sun wizard. Is it any good. Do you become like Sadira?

Any other good spellcaster class in their and what do they do?

Thanks

In Preservers and Defilers appear some words about Sadira and the sun wizard. Supposedly only she is a sun wizard since the circumstances and how she became sun wizard can only be achieved once.

There's a template by Sysane and a Sadira conversion by me in the boards somewhere...

Check in the Forum Archive at the top of the page - it may be in there.

I hope it stays that way, she should be unique.

My next DS campaign will be set in the far future (FY 1015?) and I'm thinking of making Sadira a Sorceror Queen as a side effect of her transformation.

Sadira, the Sorcerer Queen of Tyr... I like it.

On topic, I agree with Aggilus and Jaysyn - the Sun Wizard is a unique character. The closest anyone can get to that would be to become a Cleric of the Sun (which of course is not the same thing at all)

Or to brave the perils of the Pristine Tower and convince the hell out of the shadow giants to turn them into something similar to a sun wizard ( DC 300+ diplomacy check anyone).

Or True Mindswitch or Magic Jar Sadira at night while she is sleeping and more vulnerable. Then, at least, you'd have her body. Who knows.

This should be on the show "To Catch a Predator". ;)

A caravan of obsidian balls may help in this regard. Hey waitaminit.... I don't mean to derail the thread, but how come they always needed new obsidian balls? Shadow giants are incorporeal, so it's not like they would break the balls when they hatch.....Maybe they just wanted to expand their population at an increasing rate, thus the need for more "eggs"

Anyhoo, bribing them with the orbs that the deceast House Lubar can no longer provide along with a bunch of BS promises to help free Rajaat would probably go a long way towards convincing them.

The obsidian orbs fall apart over time, as the egg like nature of the shadow people's incubation means that the "essence" of the obsidian is eaten away. (sounds cool, no clue if it's accurate.)

Also, most people know nothing of Rajaat, but Sadira does, and she is weak at night...

I feel the whole egging explanation was a ruse used by the SGs to veil the real reason behind them needing obsidian. They were probably obtaining the orbs for Rajaat for some sinister purpose yet to be revealed.

I don't think so. IIRC, and I could be wrong, but when Sadra was in the PT, didn't she see some of the obsidian egg things at the top level?

Plus - why would they lie? There is no gain for them. It would be far more simplier to say that it was none of her business and leave it at that then to creat a falsehood in order to deceive her.

Trying to make it sound like thye were making it up for some other reason sounds like a lot of additional work that only adds to the contradictions - IMO it is better to take the SGs at their word and move on from there instead of fabricating more material in order to make their statement into "veil of some sinister purpose".

I could be wrong, but I think what you're confusing this with is the alleged blue aged halflings found near the Pristine Tower.

Do you think that telling Sadira that it was going to be used by a being that wants all non-halfling life eradicated from the face of the planet would help further their goals? Doubtful.

The SGs may have been worried in telling Sadira that it was none of her business would it prompt her to seek out answers and unravel its purpose.

Its called creativity Whats more interesting, taking things at face value or putting a spin on it to make it more interesting for later campaign use?

IIRC, Sadira saw some of the obsidian balls with what looked like larval SGs swimming around inside.

What pg of AE was that on?

Amber Enchantress, p. 306 -
Inside of each globe, a wisp of blue light slowly whirled around, as if some living thing were swimming through the black glass.
"What are those?" Sadira asked. Her leg began to itch madly. When she reached down to scratch, she discovered that an articulated yellow shell had entirely replaced it.
"Eggs." Khidar replied. motioning the sorceress toward the murky orbs.
-Skipping nonrelated paragraph-

"We must incubate our young in isolation, transferring them from smaller balls to larger as they grow" Khidar explained, waiving his shadowy hand at the obsidian globes. "Before Jo'orsh and Sa'ram came, this was not necessary. We grew them all together, inside the dark lens."

Interesting. I had entirely forgotten that part of AE. I stand corrected (damn you Vortexa! ;) ).
