Hey guys, I was wondering if someone would post for me the requirements for the Crown, Sword, and Rose knights from KOoA. I know that posting PrC prereq's isn't against CoC so we should be good, thank you in advance.

The Crown Knight is the same as the DLCS.

The Sword Knight only needs a Will save +2, and the following skill ranks: Diplomacy 2, Knowledge (nobility and royalty) 4, Knowledge (religion) 2, Ride 4. Add heavy armor proficiency, martial weapon proficiency (any one), shield proficiency to the feat prerequisites in the DLCS.

The Rose Knight only needs a Will save +3 and the following skill ranks: Diplomacy 6, Knowledge (nobility and royalty) 6, Knowledge (religion) 2, Ride 6. Add heavy armor proficiency, martial weapon proficiency (any one), shield proficiency to the feat prerequisites in the DLCS.

You do not need to have levels in any of the other prestige classes in order to take one of the others. Thus, you can enter the Rose Knight prestige class without levels in Sword and Crown.

Thanks as always for the timely response Cam. One more question if you will so indulge me, I can only imagine the Sword knight still has caster level increases each level, but is this still the same with the Rose Knight. Also I am guessing the Rose Knight still has leadership as a prereq which has always kind of bugged me, I dont like that a player is forced to take a cohort and followers.

None of the Solamnic classes offer a spellcaster progression now; there are substitution levels for the Clerists, which are the divine casting Knights in the Order of the Sword, but most Knights don't cast spells. This is backed up by the novels, in fact, and the way we handle it in Knightly Orders of Ansalon supports this.

Rose Knights should never have been spellcasters, which is a change that came about in the SAGA edition of the game (although some interpreted the rules in the 2nd edition otherwise.)

I would strongly suggest picking up the book, because there's a lot more in there that explains all of this than I can reasonably post here.

Cheers,
Cam

I like that it is only the Clerists that can cast spells now! I never liked that the Rose knights could.
