Are there 3e stats for the live rezhatta beetles. I found the undead version in Terrors of the Deadlands under Undead War Beetle. What about the live version?

No there isn't. And if I recall correctly, neither were they stated in 2e.

I'd say that you can use the undead war beetle from TotDL and from that, change its undead type to vermin of the same HD, size, etc. Drop the Fear attack and add instead Improved Grab and/or Trample.

There's a gargantuan beetle called a watroach in Terrors of Athas. Is that what you mean?

I saw the watroach but I do not think they are the same.

Methvezem is right that there were no stats for a live razhatta in 2nd edition. Only, the undead version is in Dragon Kings.

I have not see the watroach in any of the 2nd edition products so it is possible that they are the same, but I do not think so.

Probably Methvezem's solution is the best, to adapt the undead stats in Terrors of the Deadlands.

It seems awfully strange that they would have stats for the undead, but not living version of a creature... then again you might find a lot of that in the setting with all the "cleansed" races.

There indeed are two different giant vermins, respectively called watroach and rezhatta, and that each can be made into undead siege engines.

The rezhatta beetle appeared as stated above only as a vehicule in Dragon Kings.

The watroach is from Dragon magazine 185, where it is stated both as a living vermin and as an undead war vehicle.

Each one have very different appearance, thanks to Brom's artwork for both, and their respective statistics should reflect that. E.g. the rezhatta has great mandibles while the watroach has short ones, if I recall correctly.

And the watroach has a disproportionally large back, quite like a dorsaly pregnant scarab, for it carries on it's back (and in its body) a hive composed of it's immature progeny.

...which makes me think it could, both as a living and undead creature, be stated as carrying swarms (both vermin and bugdead). In the case of the undead watroach, teo versions could exist: The emptied-out version found in Dragon Magazine, used as a mobile battle platform, and a version with swarm still inside, and used as a mobile weapon of war, a bit like a giant flamethrower....but unleashing bugdead swarms on command.

A monster in Monster Manual III works a bit like the swarm-inside version I'm proposing. It could be used to see what language this monster-inside-a-monster thing would require.

Don't forget that the Kreen could have living versions of this as well, given the Zik-chil.
