Can someone tell me if the Tower of High Sorcery that was located in Palanthas, was open for wizard in the time of the War of the Lance?
If it was closed already at that time, when did it be closed and by who?
(I know it was a black robe, but I don't know his name and the reason of his action)

At the end of the War of the Lance (353 AC) Raistlin Majere enters the tower of Palanthas. He is proclaimed the Master of Past and Present.
But did he open the tower to other wizards, so they go and study magic again in the tower? If the doors kept closed for other wizards, how did Raistlin ever meet Dalamar and made him is disciple?

It was closed in the time of the Kingpriest. After Raistlin reclaimed the tower, the wizards sent Dalamar to spy on him. But to my knowledge he was the only one allowed in to study magic.

As was stated by retillin, it was closed just prior to the first Cataclysm during the time of the Kingpriest.

If you would like exact info on who and how it was cursed, check out the "Kingpriest Trilogy" by Chris Pierson; it goes into great detail about the tower curse and the wizard who threw himself upon the gates from the top of the tower to create the curse. Very good trilogy (it also tells about the other towers, which were destroyed during the reign of the last Kingpriest).

The wizards turned the tower over to the Lord of Palathas after the wizards conceeded it at the the end of the Lost Battles. Fistandantilus had convinced his acolyte/apprentice Rannoc (I know I spelled it wrong) jump seal the tower from all outside intrusion, except Fisty himself. This he accomplished by throwing himself from the deathspire and impaling himself upon the gate. He said that only the Master of Past and Present (Fisty) would be able to enter the tower. That's the nutshell version.

Rannoch driven mad by Fistandantilus who used him to start the war between wizards and the kingpriest.

Rannoch.

Thank-you! I hate it when that happens. Yes Rannoch was an acolyte of Fisty, who then used him to try and assassinate the Kingpriest. He survived and then Fisty used him to cusre the Tower in Palanthas. From everything I've read on the Tower in Palanthas it was different looking before it was cursed. The cursed turned the whole tower black and twisted it.

His full name is Andras Rannoch. He was called Andras in one book and Rannoch in another, so when we put together Towers of High Sorcery (where his stats appear twice, once as a living man and again as an undead guardian of the Tower) we stuck both names together.

Cheers,
Cam
