Good artwork. There's some possible spoilers in that gallery IMO, but nothing too gamebreaking. I especially dig the pic of igg.:D

Yup... I definitely recognize quite a few locations, people, creatures, and objects in that collection. Looks great! Nice to see all the tie-ins to the original WGR1 and related personages.

Yeah... I'm pretty pleased with how the art turned out. And also, there's certainly some pretty big spoilers in the art for players looking forward to playing the adventure, if only for who's illustrated.

Prison of Zagyg!!! I saw a Prison of Zagyg. I have my own version here:

But I look forward to hopefully seeing the "official" one....

Including...

Spoilers
... a certain giant ape?!?!? If that is in fact the same oversized simian I'm thinking of (and how can it not be?) I have a question: will it help a DM to have a copy of a certain, old, 1st Ed module on-hand, or will everything be contained within EttRoG?

I'm delighted that they're re-releasing/updating Greyhawk material. I don't buy any new adventure supplements from WoTC because they're usually really weak. But I might have to change that if this trend continues.

I hope they bring back the Against the Giants Series

It's not who you think it is. But it's close. Very close. As in a neighbor, perhaps?

The one you think it is would be WAY too high CR for the adventure, in any case.

Actually, I think I like that better. That leaves the "other" for later on in the campaign, if I wish.

Looking more forward to this everyday.

Thanks, James.

Me too. Dungeon #150 has a nice tie in: The Godtrap. Apparently it is getting a full treatment in Expedition!

Argh! So close yet so far! James please give us back our Oonga soon! Our adventurers demand a bloodletting (and maybe even a sacrifice ^_~) at the Isle of the Ape!

Okay, it looks like Zuoken's imprisonment is now confirmed, rather than speculative.

Also, Why are Robilar & Iuz also listed? If Rob is there, this could explain his whole renegade phase. But why is Iuz listed? And what's with those "roots" pointing toward his prison?

As for the illos, I see Zagyg, Iggwilv, Mordy, Robilar (?), a Cuthbertine, and perhaps Loris Raknian from Age of Worms. Any other familiar faces?

Good question! There are indeed answers in the text, though... there's more spoilers on that one map, by the way, than anywhere else in the map or art gallery, by the way...

Hmmm. Would Iuz's name there have anything to do with the "Temple of Elemental Evil paradox"?

Hoo boy. The main subplot of the Expedition was -nothing- what I expected even from the gallery pictures. Some will be happy, some mad I expect. One thing for sure, there is much to discuss from that book once everyone's had a chance to read/play it.

Oh btw, I have the book now. :P

arrgghh - mine is "packed and ready to leave the warehouse". Looking at the excerpts - yeah, nothing like I thought. I of course will be looking at how to upgrade it to epic levels. But just what they have provided is awesome so far.

Interestingly, it looks like they dumped the Circle of 5 - as far as I can tell. That could be a consistency issue for me....

The Ring of Five is itself a consistency issue (Melf as an archmage?). They don't mention the Ring, but I don't think anything in the adventure contradicts the idea that they might still exist. Much of the Castle is very sketchily described.

So what about Zuoken. Why was he still imprisoned and did not escape as all the others?

I hope all will be revealed. I was kind of partial to an adventure that had Zuoken trapped independently on the Plane of Shadow. I thought I had a "module" of it, but I can't find it. It was done by someone on canonfire....

The Circle is mentioned I see, in one of the excerpts WotC has put out. They apparently destroyed themselves in an experiment, or otherwise were run out of town.

I never had Melf as one - that was a false rumor. According to Gary Holian, they were really Zagig, Leomund, Serten, Tuerny, and The Black One from the Valley of the Mage.

It's buried beneath all the 4th Edition stuff, but for those who haven't noticed, there's a web enhancement posted here.

Geez. I hope not--he doesn't look Baklunish at all.

No it is. I have the book. Well I´m used to crappy art in 3E but I always found the Living Greyhawk stuff better than most. But this is a dissapointment.

Did anyone else notice that the picture of Ricard Damaris doesn't match the description in the text (which matches his description from the CoG boxed set, btw), either? Were this and the Zuoken pic simply "stock art" that was relableled?

Rob: The same thoughts occurred to me. It seems likely (and disappointing), in my opinion.

Basically the artists didn't pay attention to the art order and no one on the editorial side of things caught it. This happens a lot, sad to say. I thought it was particularly onerous in this instance, since the physical description is placed so close to the image, but whomever proofed that page in layout was apparently on autopilot when his or her eyes glazed over that section.

Oh, and I almost forgot about the ghost of Zagyg's former apprentice--he's supposed to be an elf (or is that hlf-elf), yet appears quite round-earred & human in the illustration.
