Just looking for what you would think would be the theme and style of poets in the domains.

In a land of horror there has to be strong emotions (please do not mistake my question with gothic horror=emo), so I would think that there is a rich artistic aspect dealing with poetry.

I remember seeing in the Gazetteer V in the Nova Vaasa section page 11, there is reference to an ancient Vaasi poet by the name of Ansgar. He wrote about Tordenmark compared the fields of hestgraes blowing in the wind to "a thundring sea of horses ryding wayves of shyning green."
Reading this sparked my interest in the cultural of the domains in this reguard.

Posting such things like this that you find would be fine, but what I'm really looking for is comparison to our own real world poets. Also, the things you might have created for your games. My own character that I play in my RL game has taken an interest in becoming a poet of sorts. I find it interesting that both him and I are by no means Shakespeare and it is played accordingly, but poetry should be a means of personal expression and it can only become more refined as you delve deeper into your being and world.

There was a thread/project on the FoS site a while back to list the various books, stories, songs, plays and poems mentioned in the 3E and 3E Ravenloft products. Here's a link to the finished list:

Not sure where you'd find details on the styles or real-world counterparts of the writers, but the list might help.
