Hi there,
I want to start a Ravenloft campaign. I will play the GC, but I am not
sure what adventure would be a good introduction. My players will
enter Ravenloft through the mists, so they are totally new to this world.

How did you started your campaign? What adventure would be a good
start for newcomers? any hints?

thanx for every answer :D

Most of the best adventures for that purpose are in the 2nd ed. (and available for download, sometimes for free - look at the Downloads section of Wizards for more details, or buy the pdf off Paizo.com). The only problem with this is that it's 2nd ed, so you'll have to convert a few NPC stats to 3.0 or 3.5, and maybe look up a few monsters too. Depending on how much experience you have as a GM, that should not be a problem.

I would suggest Night of the Walking Dead, which is a nice murder mystery with some puzzle solving and also some combat elements in it. Better still, it's specifically aimed at newly-arrived PCs and those of a low level.

Most 2nd ed. adventures assumed the PCs were coming to Ravenloft from a separate campaign setting. Try the Chilling Tales booklet of adventure ideas for some more, or look at Book of Crypts for another set of ideas. Both books come with a large number of adventure ideas that can be crafted to your own ends.

I think night of the walking dead is a part of the GC, so it would fit.

are standing in my cuboard, have to check it. thanx

Yes, unfortunately, we are now without out "giant frogs" here in 3.x

Night of the Walking Dead is a perfect start, and yes, it is a Grand Conjunction adventure. All of the GC adventures can be found in wizards 'old editions' download bin.

The Grand Conjunction, a serie of events as predicted by the vistani seer Hiskosa.

On how to plan a campaign, I wrote an article that was quite useful, I think, on How to plan a RL Campaign.

You can find it in the Undead Sea Scrolls 2003 netbook- see my sig. Following it will enable you to plan a campaign full time ahead, with one cool thing being important NPC are introduced long time before they are actually used in the campaign.
