sorry to post this here but i am hoping someone will have an idea of why i'm having this probelm.
or maybe even find a mod from that site here.

When i tried to register on the forums i entered my email add and it said "I'm sorry but this e-mail address has been banned.

i never joined the site before so i dont see how my email could be banned. i'v never been banned from a site before so maybe this is a permanent issue and no one can join the site now or what?

thanks for any and all replies, and again sorry for posting this here, but i have no choice. and i wanna talk about ravenloft!

I had the same issue, and when I tried to email the administrator, it said it didn't exist or some such. If anyone can resolve this issue, that'd be great, as I've wanted to join the site for awhile now.

There appears to be an issue with some forms of email accounts. There is a thread about it currently at FoS.
http://www.fraternityofshadows.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4013

Until they get it addressed, perhaps it might be quicker to just obtain another form of email account.

Yes, indeed. I don't know why, but our server bans some IPs (or ISP).

So indeed try againusing another email address (hotmail or similar is easy).

Sorry for the inconvenience!

I'll ask Stephen to read this to see if he can add some more info.

Alright, I tried @msn, @yahoo, and @fmguy, which, I must say, seems pretty random. All of these say they are banned. Did I make someone at the Fraternity mad or something?

I read the forum about this at the Fraternity (thanks to Gotten and humanbing for letting them know about this one), and it said that IPs are sometimes banned. I was wondering if I somehow got my IP on there?

The FoS site says the IP are banned, which we sometimes do, but know that most of them are banned by our server, for all sites hosted there, based on criterias we do not always know...

So glad you made it, and sorry for the inconvenience!

Well, it banned my hotmail account and it seems the two other accounts i had there have been deactivated, so i guess it will be just reading for a while...

We've had some serious problems with bots, especially with free e-mail hosts such as gmail, something we're busy trying to resolve.

This thread was accidentally locked for a while during the forum reorganisation.

Some additional information has been posted over at the Ravenloft forum at The Piazza in a thread called "If your email is banned from Fraternity of Shadows read this"

Most useful is a comment from Rotipher, which I will quote here for your convinience:

We are, indeed, trying to find a solution that won't leave our forum buried in spam. Until then, those who wish to open user accounts at www.fraternityofshadows.com will need to use e-mail addresses that haven't been barred to keep out ads.

Personally, I'd recommend starting a hotmail account for purposes of registering, if you can't sign up using your existing e-mail. That's what I do myself, and I know it's worked fine for others recently.

I'd also recommend that if you can't access a new account immediately, you wait for an hour or two, then try to log into it again. There seems to be a time-delay, with some new members' registration.

- Rotipher of the FoS

I hope this helps all Ravenloft fans that are having problems.
