So as a point of interest. In all the materials I have read and seen, it seems to me that the DS world used to be very similar to typical DnD, however due to the corruption of the land, the races that survived the Cleaning war changed into someing different.

For instance, Dennings books discribe a dwarven city and the dwarves look like DnD dwarves, not athasian dwarves.

So and this mind you is just for fun. What do you think the cleansed races would have been like if they had survived. Here is a list of the cleansed races.

Troll
Kobold
Ogre
Gnome
Goblin (Could include Hobgoblin & Bugbear)
Wemic
Pixie
Orc
Centaur* (This one is speculated, due to contradictions in the cannon.)

Of all of them I feel wemics would have changed the least, possibly growing more cat like in their upper body appearence, and becoming thicker skinned.

The trolls are described in RaFoaDK. Also you might check out this link......

And that's "Cleansed", unless you think those races were filthy :P

Also the Search function has been brought back by WotC, so you can now attempt searches for that word. Good luck!

FFN includes the Pridemane (undead wemic), Scorched Drummer (troll undead based on RaFoaDK's version of the Troll), the coral wight (an undead lizardman), and several varieties of Goblinoid undead. From those descriptions, and from some of the stuff on the ruins that's about to get published in Lost Cities of the Trembling Plains, you can make lots of inferences about those lost races. Additionally, you find out that there's a group in Kurn that's dedicated to learning as much as possible about the lost races and to preserving their memory.
