Hey,
I just watched the movie Stardust and absolutely loved it! Has anyone else seen it? I will especially recommend it to Mystara fans.Spoilers (minor only) below:

One of the reasons I liked it was that it contained many of the elements that I also like about Mystara: Classic Fantasy elements (Witches, magic, Unicorns, princes, curses etc), Skyships, Ascension to Immortality, connections to a world resembling our own (LaTerre?), Unscrouplous Nobles, and finally the also IMO very Mystaran combination of light hearted humour without getting lost in parody. I have seen Stardust compared to Monty Python and Princess Bride, but I see those as completely different from Stardust as they are fully comedies, while Stardust retains a more serious story with humoro

And I even thought the Skyship reminded me a little of the Princess Ark. I wonder if there are devices for collecting lightning in Mystara? I wonder if someone like captain Shakespear could be hiding out there ;)

In any case, if you haven't watched it yet, It is heartily recommended

I enjoyed it highly. Now that you mention it all, it does feel like the movie had a great deal of Mystaran design sensibilities.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I read the book. The mix of fairy tales and gritty fantasy world is nice, looking forward to seeing it on the big screen!

In particular I enjoyed the movie's ability to blend the humorous elements with a serious story. I think there is a lesson to be learned about how Mystara campaigns ought to be ran there.

yes it's an excellent movie, and well worth seeing on the big screen, Neil Gaiman is a favourite author of mine.

I agree! I have been a fan of Gaiman since he started doing Sandman. I have only recently gotten into his novels though, but I was convinced I would like this movie. Still it was different from what I expected, but only in a good way!

Plus, there are too few movies about Skyships

I just watched the movie last night and thoroughly enjoyed it! There was a bit of a who's-who from recent british comedy series, but like Havard said it wasn't done as a comedy, just had very funny bits in it (the princes were great!).

And now I have to have skyships appearing in my campaign
