I heard about those. I even saw a few, way back in England.

Is it true that those 1992 cards had some Ravenloft people on them? I heard there was an Azalin card. Does anybody have a copy or know what it looked like?

The Azalin card is actually from the 1991 TSR Trading card set, card 482 has the illustration of Azalin from page 91 of the Who's Doomed section of the Realms of Terror book found in the original Black Box Ravenloft set.

The 1993 Trading cards are a treasure trove for interesting NPCs. I converted one of them here: Theodoric the Book and have notes on many others. The 1992 cards have a few interesting NPCs too. The 1991 cards are not that interesting.

Some of the NPCs are known ones like Tavelia (an illusionist 5 here!) or Larissa Snowmane (a thief 3) or Bluebeard (which i converted thrice in this thread), some are more obscure like Katrina von Brandthofen or Hoelgar Arnutson (with more background added), some are brand new but quite good like Theodoric the Book or Killeen the Spy and some are just meh like Bilkon the 18th level invoker a barovian wizard and "powerful force for Good in Barovia". (...yeah right.)

There's a list of all the TSR trading cards at the FoS: http://www.fraternityofshadows.com/Mausoleum/TSRCards.xls
May be i can update it to include all the descriptive text from the RL cards sometime...

When I made that list, I followed the format the Candlekeep website used for Forgotten Realms cards. I purposefully didn't include the descriptive text on them (other than the otherwise unheard-of Castle Bloodmere cards) to avoid any copyright issues. If FOS thinks it would be of value & has no issues with it, feel free to update it.

I got my hands on a load of those trading cards. There's a straight run of several Ravenloft Darklords, mostly incorporating their Stephen Fabian b&w art and maybe the first paragraph of their descriptions in the Realm of Terror book.
