Since Summerhill Hounds got its own thread, I figured Unicorn Hunt, by Elaine Cunningham deserved a thread of its own as well. As stated elsewhere, the novel is fairly generic (though well written!) so the events from the novel could be located almost anywhere, but I suggest Karameikos AC 1013:

Some interesting elements from the novel that could be used:
* Travellers, a similar concept as the Darine Gypsies from fan material.
* Some more information on Druids
* Untill recently, the Great Druid of the land was named Thorne
* A war is brewing between dwarves and mountain folk, partially because dwarven mining operations have awakened a dragon.

Darn, those dwarves are really a nuisance! This is not the first time
they have poked their noses where they shouldn't have in those very
same mountains. (B10)

Yep!
That was one of the reasons I chose those mountains for the dwarven settlements and it fit very well with placing the canyon where the heroes fight the dragon near Xytaqa from B10 and locating the Unicorn's Mirror near Haven, which also seems very appropriate.

What I didn't do was count the days of the journey from the book to see if it fit. The novel wasn't written with a specific setting in mind so this is an adaption. The fact that the main character is named Korigan, made me think of Karameikos right away though..
