I noted done the descriptions for spells in the Prism Pentad that I did not recognize as normal D&D spells with game statistics. There are organizes as Mage/ Templar/ Fire Cleric/ Air Cleric. Some of the spells had names in the novels, others I added descriptive names, and a lot are just listed as unknown. Also for spells cast by sorcerer-kings I noted them separately, because it may indicate that the spell is a high level. The same with spells cast by Sadira after she became a sun mage. Some of these may be existing spells that I did not recognize or where only slightly different from the original. For instance see Kalak's green fireball. Hopefully someone can use this list.

Wow, tremendous list! Exceptional work! Band2, I think you deserve the well earned title once held by our esteemed Kamelion, the title of...list monkey! (I.e. someone who has the "touch" with list-making.)

Choking tentacles
That would be Evard's black tentacles.

This spell caused a great silver and gold flash to shoot out. Bright flare filled the air with a stench of melting copper. The bolt exploded in a cascade of red and blue sparks.
That is one of the spells described in Legends of Athas.

Quite a few of those could just be normal D&D spells with variant displays.

Yep, and we can make Dark Sun just be Forgotten Realms in a desert world too.

What I mean is, for some people, what you said, while true, isn't nearly as fun or exciting.

Kalak's green fireball is that, a green fireball.

Other spells in the list have no PHB equivalent, variants or not. A few of those would be worthy of conversion.

I was going to say I figured a few Magic Missiles in that list. Keep in mind the 2nd ed. discriptions.

Theres a metamasgic feat in Magic of Faerun that would let you cast a green fireball. I'll look it up later as it has additional effects as well.

Does that mean I get to be paid in bananas? Wow, I get paid!
But there is no way I can be in Kamelion's league.

Some of the spells could just be variants or creative uses of existing spells, but when I made the list, anything that I could not identify easily as a particular spell I added to the list.

I thought about Evard's Black Tentacles for the spell Sadira casts, but her spell was a little different. The tentacles appears in teh air and grapped themselves arround the victim's head. To me the description of the tentacles was smaller than what I image for Evard's, and the fact that they did not spring from the ground. But of course it could have just been a creative way of casting the spell.

One of the spells start out sounding like magic missile, but then adds more.
Hamanu casts a spell that looks like magic missiles but then each bolt burns a hole in the victim’s chest that spew poison yellow smoke. Maybe some sort of improved magic missile?

I put the green fireball in, more because I was wondering if it was made from some other type of energy than fire. The green color gave it a strange feel, but it probably was just intended as a fireball colored green.

Sounds cool, how powerful was it? Epic?

I stayed clear of the psionics because they were so different.

Found it. In Magic of Faerun theres a feat called Spell Thematics that lets you change the visual appearence of your spells. You have to pick a theme though like fire/ice or screaming skulls whatever. Mechanics wise it adds +5 to the DC to identify any spell cast in this manner.

Most of those spells though seem like creative use in describing standard D&D spells.

Yeah, I agree. A few of those could be explained with the Elemental Admixture feat or an Archmage's Elemental Mastery High Arcana as well.

I hope 4E will have built-in spell customization unrelated to taking a feat, as people in 3E have voiced a desire to have their spells look unique yet it's dumb to have it cost a feat.

That's a great idea. When I switch over to 4e in 5-6 years or so (after they've broke it & fixed it again) I'll be sure to use that. Of course, I'm already using house rules & such that do the same thing.

Aren't featsgoing to be less powerful in 4th ed but everyone gets alot more of them?
