Apr 21, 2008 6:39:49 I'm planning to let my players lose onto Malka and the surrounding area. Where can I find some information about the area? I've got "The Crimson Legion" Novel and the Campaign Setting. Is there more out there? I'm also interested in non-official material.

Apr 21, 2008 10:10:54 You have all what you need. Smoking crown is a really interesting place to do adventure, since there a lot of different terrain and area of interest all close to the same spot.

Slave Tribes - IIRC
The Crimson Legion

on the surrounding area -
The Will and the Way - has info on a nearby fortress controlled by a group of powerful psions
Elves of Athas - has info on the Water Hunter tribe, who reside within the Utbo Grove, a little hidey-hole located to the southwest of Makla
Dune Trader - has info on the nearby merchant forts, including the lone fortress of one of Stel's rivals (can't think of the name off the top of my head), found in the Smoking Crown Mountains
Cinnabar Shadows (and Brazen Gambit for that matter) - details some locales found just northwest of (or very near to) the Smoking Crown Mountains

You have all what you need. Smoking crown is a really interesting place to do adventure, since there a lot of different terrain and area of interest all close to the same spot.

Thats the problem, almost too much good possibilities ;)

I'm beginning to have an overview of what should happen, and I have the feeling the climax has something to do with a fire drake residing near or in a vulcano.

Okay I will have a look into my Slave Tribes copy. Unluckily I don't have Cinnabar Shadows. Is it worth to start a search for it in general, not only for the info about the Smoking Crown?
