Setting Specific Contests

I posted this idea on the piazza forum. It hasn't received a lot of input so I figured I'd post about it here. I think running it on the piazza forum makes the most sense as it works better as a hub for old setting information.

On the WotC forum, they have the Master/Expert DM Competitions. Each contest has a subject with required elements. New playable race might require monster manual stats plus an NPC for the PCs to encounter. An creature lair might require 3-5 encounters. Additionally there are some number of optional elements (~12). An entry needs only incorporate 3 optional elements but many people incorporate more. The MDMC is for 3.5E while the XDMC is for 4E. The intent is to create material usable for a DM with limited time on his hand to prepare.

Unfortunately one of the judging elements is adaptability. Setting specific entries (like using spelljammers) hurts such entries although you can include adaptability notes to limit that. Still I've been thinking about having a contest that embraces a setting. The logical choice is to do a Mystara contest first. I don't feel I know enough about the setting to run such a contest. I would be willing to organize a Spelljammer one. I'm thinking a rotating setting specific contest with no overlap between contests. The next setting would begin planning it's contest after the previous setting announces the winners for it's contest.

Would people be interested? Who should be a judge? Does someone want to run the Mystara contest? What should the contest subject be? What edition should be used? Should the edition change depending on the setting or be set at one edition for all contest?

In case you're expecting prizes, there wouldn't be any. All you get is bragging rights.
