Hiryu- I still think that your wrong as concerns missle weapons. A loaded crossbow will still fire first against a Bow. A bow can be fired more in a round because it is much easier to load, but a loaded Crossbow certainly can be fired first as it requires only aiming and pulling trigger. The Bow on the other hand even if loaded must be drawn. All of my rulebooks are at my DM's house right now so I don't know what the official speed modifiers are, but here's how I'd list some missle weapons by priority of actions needed to fire. Dagger/knife then C.Bow then Bow then Sling then Arquebus The dagger when thrown is thrown from a fairly close range and if ready ie. in hand is a flick of the wrist. The Crossbow then is fired from further away, thus carefull aim must be taken if anything is to be hit. Once target is aquired simply press the triger. The bows are more complicated, they have even longer ranges. I'm comparing S. Bow to a light crossbow and a l. Bow with a heavy C.Bow. Not only that, but to hit far targets the aimer must often determine trajectery witch C. Bowmen do not. Beyond that a bow must be drawn witch if its not a Compound is not so easy. The Sling requires one to aim then rotate the sling around the head.(its really weird I've tried, it I had to aim by holding my thumb out in front of me.) An Arqubus must wait for the primer to burn down and that is a slow process. Agree/Disagree. Now watch the phb totally refute me :) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : Malaug Date : 01-08-04 04:51 AM Thread Title : C'bow vs. bow I have seen a crossbow and a bow contest, who could hit a tagert the most. In a 1 minute period, 16 arrows were used and hit the target compared to 6 bolts from a crossbow. At the start, the crossbow was already loaded, an arrow was knocked, and from draw to fire of the bow there would have only been a one second gap, no more. I would say that there would be a very fine line between the two, taking into account you have to sight with both. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:19 AM.
