I want something like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. If you're a big fan, could you tell me what could be the stats of Faith, the other slayer? Thank you in advance -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : The WarOverlord Date : 01-16-04 05:13 AM Thread Title : Re: Undead Slayer class for 2nd edition Originally posted by Faith281 Do anyone know how could be an Undead Slayer class, the best stats, the bonus, etc. Or If someone has already a class like this for AD&D 2nd edition, could you post it please? I want something like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. If you're a big fan, could you tell me what could be the stats of Faith, the other slayer? Thank you in advance Buffy? That show went so off it's rocker, though the movie was good. Buffy was basically bestowed with special abilities from the "powers that be" that let her use wooden stakes as if they were "blessed" and got a "Plus to hit" and bonus against fighting Vampires. If I remeber correctly She, in the Movie at least, was also immune to Vampire Charm, vampire bites and life drain attacks and heals very fast herself That would be: Buffy Class Fighter (Deathslayer) Feat: Regeneration (original movie version) short of total body destruction, Buffy will regenerate and regrow limbs. On total destruction the gift will go to someone else the "Powers that be" deem worthy Feat: Attack Vampires (favored undead) with leathality. Break neck to kill Vampire Feat: Attack Vampires (favored undead) with leathality. Stakes used by deathslayer as if Blessed by priest. causes instant paralyzation if put through heart (not permanently dead until break neck, cut off head removing stake causes reanimation if head not broke or cut off) note: "flaming" does not happen though D&D excepts the turning to dust Hollywood version Feat: Unusual Strentgh. Enough to counter the strength of a vampire Feat: Immunity to Vampire Charm/Magic cast by Vampires (Original movie) Feat: Immunity to Vampire Bite (original Movie) Feat: Immunity to Life Draining/cold touch/Paralyzation/fear. Is technically a "Cold One" herself (anti-vampire to be more specific) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : MadBall Date : 01-16-04 06:02 AM There is a Undead Slayer Character Kit in the 'Complete Book of Elves'. It was mainly meant for elven chars. In combination with a priest class it can be fairly easy to have a very good Undead Slayer. A Kit for Any Class Every elf has the capability to achieve some of the same ends, although in different ways. The following is a classwide kit that any elf can take, regardless of profession, class, or multiclass combination. UNDEAD SLAYER As elves loathe the undead, it is only logical that they develop methods to combat the undead menace. Whether they stay behind to protect elf homes from ravening undead hordes or actively seek out the unliving to destroy them in their foul nests, the Undead Slayers learn all they can about their wretched foes. Role. The Undead Slayers are schooled in the ways of the undead, seeking to destroy undead monsters wherever they can find them. Secondary Skills. Any. Undead Slayers are drawn from all lots in life. Weapon Proficiencies. Bonus: One bludgeoning weapon of Medium size, as long as it is allowed by the initial class. Recommended: A piercing or slashing weapon to complement the bludgeoning weapon. Bonus Nonweapon Proficiencies. Blind-fighting. Recommended Nonweapon Proficiencies. Healing, Herbalism, Ancient History, Local History, Ancient Languages, Survival. Equipment. Every Undead Slayer carries the common items necessary for this trade. Most of them carry backpacks containing at least a mirror, two vials of holy water (if not more), several sharpened stakes, holy symbols, tinder for torches, and so forth. For weapons, if their class allows, they carry at least two silver weapons, one each of piercing and bludgeoning type, as well as ordinary weapons. Distinctive Appearance. Most Undead Slayers have a grim, determined look—the result of the grisly nature of their work. These elves have lost the typical elven enjoyment of life, for they have become obsessed with death and the undead. Special Benefits. Undead Slayers have chosen a particular form of undead to combat and have researched it thoroughly. They know every nuance and variation between the various members of that species. For this reason, Undead Slayers, if properly prepared, gain a +2 to attack rolls and to damage against their chosen undead foes. Undead Slayers hunt the undead more easily than most. They know the signs of undead infestations and can trace them back to their sources. Their keen elven senses are honed to detect the unnatural rhythms of undead, and they can therefore find their lairs. This does not mean that they can find a distant vampire's secret lair. Instead, by listening to rumors and observing the local phenomena, they can find the general area where the lair might be. Then they may search for the creature more personally. Special Hindrances. Although they can fight other foes, the Slayers will never turn down a chance to eliminate an undead enemy. While this does not mean charging blindly into battle, they will not hesitate to sacrifice their lives if it means the undead will perish. They will never back away from the opportunity to rid the world of these blasphemous creations, regardless of the cost to themselves. Mindless undead are rather low on their list of priorities for destruction. Skeletons and zombies do not arouse the hatred and loathing of the Undead Slayer as much as sentient undead do. Anything with a mind raises the hackles and the anger of the Undead Slayer. Such is the Undead Slayers' devotion to their cause that they will plan ways to destroy even those undead who have proved themselves friendly. Dealing with a good or neutral lich, for example, is impossible for an Undead Slayer. Simply knowing of the existence of such an abomination is enough for this character to seek ways to annihilate it. Wealth Options. Undead Slayers start out with the same amount of wealth as any other players within their class. Undead Slayers must purchase at least two vials of holy water and a silver mirror before buying any other equipment. For weapons, they usually carry an edged weapon (if allowed) as well as a bludgeoning weapon. After they have satisfied this minimum requirement, they may spend their money as they wish. However, it is recommended that at least half of their funds be spent on equipment for locating and holding undead at bay. Suggested Elf Subraces. All. You can also try to develop a Ranger Kit as Undead Slayer. The Ranger Kit for the Giant Slayer can be a good background to develop rules for them. I developed a Lycanthrope Slayer once based on the background of a Giant Slayer. On page 90 of the Rangers Handbook you can find something Hints: >Stuck for ideas? Here are some suggestions that might be developed into new >>kits: >Crypt Ranger. Cemeteries, battlefields, or other locales associated with death are >his primary terrain. His followers are non-evil undead. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : Zythrst Greyeyes Date : 01-16-04 01:23 PM War overlord, I do beleive he said 2e :) The Elves handbook's Undead Slayer would work. Perhaps a female elf fighter, with some kung fu from the Ninja's Handbook or PO: C&T. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : The WarOverlord Date : 01-17-04 05:46 AM Originally posted by Zythrst Greyeyes War overlord, I do beleive he said 2e :) The Elves handbook's Undead Slayer would work. My bad. :D My 2nd Eddition Vampire Slayer was a dual class thief/magic user with a modified vampire template The party was attacked by a vampire and only the Pc was survived though was bit so driven to rage by the lost of the friends but starting to "lose it" and the way my PC took out the Vampire was by draining it dry before beheading it so my PC mutated into a "anti-vampire" (A Vampire that feeds on vampires) :smirk: A amulet of protection from sunlight, and a magic goblet that refills with blood for "snacking" between vampire kills made my PC able to move around "polite society" -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 6] Author : DngnMstrBailey Date : 01-20-04 02:31 PM Thread Title : undead slayer In addition to the elves handbook, there is an Undead Slayer in the Necromancers Handbook. That's the one that I use in my CR2E program. It's a kit for necromancers. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:19 AM.
