And more farther it suppose to "rain" magic item.. like bracel ca 3, ring +3 and+, sword +3 and+, are normal to be gave... Our dm maybe want to play with again with them after this quest.. he willl find hard to get some monster to kill us.. if he not full them of magic item. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : sandskimmer Date : 01-28-04 06:17 PM I have never DMed this campaign, though I have it, and have read through it. Parts do seem a bit high on the magic side, but then, some of the encounters required very well equiped PCs to make them survivable. Until I've actually played this campaign, I shouldn't really say. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : Kewlmarine32 Date : 01-29-04 03:11 AM Yes, I agree that there is too much gold and magical items that can be found within the boxed set... I had to adjust it a bit so that it was not so munchkin... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : Thailfi Date : 01-29-04 01:52 PM If a DM can't present a challenge to a 7th level party with a bunch of +3 or better items without resorting to using things that have even better items, he just isn't putting any effort into it. We get scared when we are given items ahead of what a normal character would expect. What that means is that the DM is saying "use them well because you are going to NEED them". My friend had a 1st level character that stole his father's vorpal long sword and +3 plate mail. He didn't live to see second level and never once fought anything that had a magic item. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : Karn1 Date : 01-29-04 05:40 PM its more for after the quest than for now, now he juste follow what the books say, but when we will finish the quest.. around level 12 or 13 we will have equipement of a level 18, well in my opinion. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 6] Author : Wyrmbane Date : 01-30-04 11:00 PM I enjoyed the adventure a lot. As for the amount of treasure, we almost always ended up putting it to good (and HARD) use, if you take my meaning. Some of the stuff might have been handed to you somewhat easily, but right around the corner was usually something to make sure you damned sure used it!! Since I haven't even opened either of my copies yet, I don't know how much was actually part of the adventure and how much was added by our DM. Excellent game either way, at least for us. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 7] Author : Malaug Date : 02-02-04 11:20 AM Thread Title : NIght Below I Dmed this adventure, and toned it down so the party didn't get the great stuff. Finslayer I did give, but that was quickly "taken away" when the party ranger attacked a Kua-Toan war party on his own (actually the sword made him do it what with his low Intelligence and Wisdom), and he was Level 15. They didn't get the Helm of Brillance, and the highest weapon that the party left with was +3 I believe, and seeing that only one of them survived with all his magic items it didn't disrupt game flow too much. Anyway that character died in the next adventure (falling into a lake with a Hydra) his body was never found, and neither were any of his items, so it's impact was minimal. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:19 AM.
