The Chaos Mages are the ones who would Push the limits of it and had a higher chance of going insane they had special powers... but ewhen activated they would have to make a willsave or go insane. Pretty sick. They were more powerfull that Wild mages.. Were hunted down by other mages and would go insane.... they could do energy substitution without the feat or any other "metamagic feat" without having it. But For every level increase they had to make a will save (Spell Levelx2[+1 each additional Change]) even when the spell level would be carried above nineth but if you failed ur Will Save.. You could regain urself 3 Will saves(your Level+difference between failure DC of first save) but this is all ofcourse going thrue my mind and im converting it as i go. one other thing is at 10th level they could creat a Chaotic Magic Feild in wich they could distort spells to their will (Spellcraft DC=LEVEL OF SPELLxCheck of other wizard or mage. Which is quite funny... but then... while within this area(sort of like an anti magic field) They had to make saves because its a special ability. And the DC for this will save would increase for every round you maintaned it (30-non-prestigeclass level+1/r to the point of.... you better hope you dont keep it up more than 10 rounds.... and, furthur more it could only be used once per day... but any spell cast that has touch attack base (ranged or not) becomes Chromatic in effect.
