Thread Title : Opinions on Bloodstone books please

I was scouring RPGNow for all of that cheap old school stuff (Oi, it can be kind of addictive, all those books for just $5), and the Bloodstone books caught my eye (Bloodstone War, Mine of the Bloodstone, etc). I was just wondering what people thought of these modules, and this seemed like the place to ask. Thanks.

this site... or its predecessor actually (www.tsr.com) had a free download for H1 a few years back. but as the pdfs/ESDs got popular they dropped it.

they work best for the system they were designed for....

Battlesystem.

you can play them as adventures for a party, but they take a lot of work.

H3 has a problem with the pdf so make sure you look for thru the download accessories.

I am currently running an epic party through the Bloodstone series. So far it has been great (they're in the middle of storming the Temple of Orcus right now).

For the first module we used the Battlesystem rules (converted to 3.5). But a few of my players aren't wargamers so we dropped that aspect of it to keep everyone happy. Now any large scale battles that take plaec will happen offstage, with the party doing other things during the fight (such as squaring off against the enemy's generals to prevent them from bringing their magic to bear against the players' armies).

I would heartily recommend the adventures.
