Can anybody tell me what was in it, and how it differed from the Immortal Set? Can I download it online? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : rogueattorney Date : 05-03-04 04:59 PM What was in it? 1. A list of the Known World/Mystara immortals and some of the details/powers of their followers. These weren't full-blown specialty priests a la 2e, but more like the special little powers the clerics in 1e Greyhawk had. 2. Rules on playing immortals. Similar to the Immortal Box, with some revisions. Don't know enough about either set to break down the differences for you. 3. Campaign length adventure detailing a war between the immortals. I'm not a big fan. It seemed like the Known World's "Time of Troubles" to me. I don't like big, involved campaign changing meta-plots in published settings. However, the maps were really cool, if you're a Known World/Mystara fan, and some of the individual adventures are O.K. Is it available through download? Not legally. Check ebay.com and half.com for a hard copy. It's neither particularly rare nor expensive, considering it's about a dozen years old. The Immortal play rules were a complete re-write. It is hard to categorise the differences when I can't remember what (if any) stayed the same. Personally I always thought the gold-box rules too complex to ever play, the WotI rules definitely looked playable. Sample Changes: No limits to numbers of immortals of each level (so no games for advancement). Total re-write of melee (no punching for 20d6 damage). Rather than spend X pp to create spell effect, just spend 50 to create any spell at will for the day. (Personally I would keep the gold-box listing if they ever want to create a single effect.) etc. etc. If you catually want to play with Immortal Characters then I think these rules are much better than the old ones, but the 3 published adventures will need major surgery should you want to run them.
