Thread Title : Deep gnome

In the 2nd Edition demihuman Deities book for the speciality cleric of Callarduran Smoothhands, it says at 3rd level they can summon a earth elemental once a day at a 25% chance. My question is.... How long does this take? and how long does it last? Would it be the same as the 7th lvl cleric spell conjure elemental?

deep gnomes aka svirneblin could do that in 1edADnD also. 

it worked the same as the spell conjure elemental on the magic-user spell list then. and it also worked similar to some magic items in the DMG. they had a chart for the relative power of the elemental summoned in the D series.
