Just curious. Can I play 2e without any rules explanation just because I've played all the bioware games umpteen times? If not, what is different? Are there any things omitted or just plain wrong? And what about the experience per monster? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : Incenjucar Date : 06-17-04 07:29 AM ...There's the fact that you actually have to -roll- things yourself rather than point and click to kill... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : Mr.Waesel Date : 06-17-04 07:30 AM Originally posted by Incenjucar ...There's the fact that you actually have to -roll- things yourself rather than point and click to kill... :P Yes, I gathered that. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : Thailfi Date : 06-17-04 08:01 AM Yes, in the pen and paper game you have to get up and push the DMs nose to pause the action so you can tell all of the characters and NPCs what to do.:D There are some differences in spells and the proficiencies are different, but if you have invested the hundreds of hours necessary to complete both games and both expansions multiple times, you should make an easy transition to player. If you were to DM, I would suggest thoroughly reading the DMs GUide and Players Handbook. Oh, don't expect to find a lot of the epic stuff from Throne of Baal in the pen and paper game. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : Fearless Date : 06-17-04 09:42 AM Originally posted by Thailfi Yes, in the pen and paper game you have to get up and push the DMs nose to pause the action so you can tell all of the characters and NPCs what to do.:D There are some differences in spells and the proficiencies are different, but if you have invested the hundreds of hours necessary to complete both games and both expansions multiple times, you should make an easy transition to player. You won't find any +5 swords on just "standard" people like throne of bhaal does. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 6] Author : Silverthrone Date : 06-17-04 01:55 PM Playing the game might give you a slight edge on understanding certain aspects of the rules, but it would still be best to sit down, read the PHB, and then play with someone willing to help teach you. The video games are no subtitutes for the real thing. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:18 AM.
