No such thing in any of the out of print editions that I'm aware of. That was a 3e invention unless I missed it someplace in the older games. :)

Templates are a 3.0 and later addition to Dungeons and Dragons. The closest think in 1st and 2nd edition were the cambions and alu-fiends. In 1st edition I think they were presented in the Monster Manuel II and in 2nd they were in the Planar Compendium with the hole punches.
