So I was contemplating converting this old gem to 3e.
Anybody tried it?
Any suggestions?
Am I crazy?
Are my players stupid to play with a DM who thinks of such trials?

BTW, my favorite Gygax quote (paraphrased) from the module (regarding the teleport that zaps all your gear into the final crypt, and you back to the beginning):

That'll get you started on your Tomb of Horrors conversion but the rest is up to you. And, as to your question, I'm sure hundreds have tried it and no, you're not crazy. Those who don't want to run through such classic modules are the crazy ones. And a good DM enjoys the work of crafting (or re-crafting) a brilliant adventure...so have at it and good luck! :)

Sigh. Yet another 3E oriented post in the OOP forum.

Hey Paradox, when is the Edition Comparison/Conversion forum ever gonna materialize? It's only been 3-4 months we've been waiting. :rolleyes: 

Questions about how to convert something to 3E really belong in the 3E forum. Many if not most OOP gamers don't play 3E, so how the hell would they know how to convert something from 1E to 3E? :rolleyes:

In other words, people are asking gamers who play OD&D, 1E, or 2E to convert something into a ruleset that they don't play (3E). How much sense does that make? On the other hand, most 3E gamers who play 3E have played earlier editions, so the 3E forums would be the proper place to ask. 

Since the Wizzos are obviously not going to ever materialize the promised conversion board, I'd suggest that OOP gamers simply ignore all these requests for advice on 3E, except perhaps to reply "try askin on one of the 3E oriented areas". Maybe then the constant influx of 3E related stuff will go where it belongs.

The question has been asked and answered.  In the future, we'll determine where the thread is more appropriate.  Just press the "Report the Thread to a Moderator" test and we'll address it.  However, I do agree that if you do not wish help, then just don't post.
