Can anyone tell me of a site where I might be able to find out the value of my collection? This is the best site I know for info on the old D&D toy line: http://www.toyarchive.com/DungeonsDragonsFigures.html Brings back memories, I recall having most of these as a kid. :) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : diaglo Date : 08-05-04 09:35 AM the cheap plastic melts pretty easily too. i had fun burning them. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : skathros Date : 08-05-04 06:21 PM Thanks for the link, Chatdemon...i guess now i gotta go over to my mom's house and turn it upside down in order to find my old Warduke and Strongheart figs! I can just hear my wife saying as i enter the door holding warduke in one hand, strongheart in the other: "For the love of God, Sammy!!! How old are you?!?!" :) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 6] Author : skathros Date : 08-05-04 06:22 PM Originally posted by diaglo the cheap plastic melts pretty easily too. i had fun burning them. but i think the d&d skirmish collectable, rondom packadged figs melt even better:smirk: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 7] Author : skathros Date : 08-05-04 06:23 PM Originally posted by diaglo the cheap plastic melts pretty easily too. i had fun burning them. but i think the d&d skirmish collectable, random packadged figs melt even better:smirk: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 8] Author : Moscone Date : 08-19-04 06:33 AM jk- if you have the castle, you're rich. Its rare. skathros- you have too much money in your pocket if you're going out and buying the minis just to burn them. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 9] Author : Algolei Date : 08-19-04 06:44 AM You've got too much money if you're buying them for any reason. Gah! Buying plastic minis! G-g-g-gaaah! Gimme nice chewable lead figures any day! :smirk: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 10] Author : blackprinceofmuncie Date : 08-19-04 02:37 PM Originally posted by Algolei You've got too much money if you're buying them for any reason. Gah! Buying plastic minis! G-g-g-gaaah! Nooooo! I LOVE plastic minis! They're so durable and green, and the one with the M-16 who's throwing the grenade looks just like an orc with a sword if you squint your eyes just right..... ;) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 11] Author : chatdemon Date : 08-19-04 03:04 PM But the collectible figures in question are action figures, not minis. http://www.toyarchive.com/Dungeons&Dragons/Figures/FigureLineup1a.jpg -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 12] Author : Algolei Date : 08-20-04 06:32 AM Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh! Action figures! That's okay then. In fact, I'm John-George BushKerry and I approve this product. My DM bought some of them dagnab new plastic D&D figures ("made in China") that come random in boxes of 8 (something like that). They're horrible! Seriously: They're like all rubbery and their swords are all bent about like boiled squid parts. The paint jobs on them (I'll assume they're actually "paint jobs" and not just, I dunno, coffee stains or something) make me cringe--I reached for my paintbrushes three times tonight, just to touch up some of the most horrible bits! But then I recoiled, unwilling to make myself even partly responsible for these horrible things. And Great Googly Moogly! Whose miserable idea was it to sell them in RANDOM BOX SETS?! You can't even tell which crap you're buying!! I actually used a plastic US army soldier instead, to represent my gnome PC. Okay, I'm done ranting now. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 13] Author : TheVillageofHommlet Date : 09-06-04 06:27 PM Yes, the random figures of crap do suck mightily. The action figures were out around the time of the cartoon show and the tv show at night. Both sucked mightily, and the action figures didn't follow the rules, but rather the crap being passed on as tv entertainment. Ah, to follow the god known as the Dollar. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 14] Author : WizO_Catoblepas Date : 09-06-04 07:23 PM Ok everyone, let's refrain from the discussion of D&D Miniatures on this board. As the moderators of the board, Sith and I have no problem moving the 3rd edition material from this board and moving it to more appropriate forums. However, it is a two-way road. We depend on everyone keeping the discussion to the topic of OoP editions and the action figures and not on the 3rd edition material and the support products. Thanks in advance. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 15] Author : Kheldren Date : 09-07-04 03:18 AM As for the bendy figures - if you want to find out more about the characters they modelled check out module XL1 - Quest for the Heartstone which was an Expert D&D module with stats for the characters - yes they are the pre-gen characters for the module. I have the module somewhere and it is not that bad (at least I have not looked at it in years so it may be worse than I remember). The interesting point is the characters were all obviously AD&D characters (Paladin etc) but the adventure is pre-Companion set D&D and so is just the old Basic and Expert base classes! Hopefully that has got this back on-topic to keep the Wizo's happy :D -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 16] Author : Elendur Date : 09-09-04 11:19 AM I had Warduke, Strongheart, Zarak and the Dragonne. I seem to remember having some non articulated figures as well, like 'pack of 2 elves' or something. Does anyone remember these figures? Somewhere I have pictures I took of a fight I staged between Strongheart and Warduke, complete with fake blood. I think that was the beginning and end of my cinematic career. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:19 AM.
