Hi all, This is a question for those who have been playing D&D probably 20 + years. I was wondering if anybody knew if very old 2nd Edition modules where possibly still available? I haven't played any D&D in well over 15 years and just came back to it recently, and I have seen a lot of changes that I like! I remember several modules that were really cool, the modules I'm referring too are the ones where the adventurers go on a series of missions to rid the lands of Giants for the common town folk that's in the area and they hire the group of adventurers to go after the Giants and arid the lands of them. I can't remember the names of the modules off hand, but the 1st one delt with Hill Giants (excellent one) then came the Frost Giant one (pretty good) and the last was was dealing with Fire Giants (another excellent one) which then in turn leads to the Vault of the Drow adventures! I see the the old modules could be adapted pretty easy into the new 3.0 or 3.5 system. Any input would be welcome. Thanks, 41 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : Gandalf_Istari Date : 08-22-04 01:53 PM Thread Title : Re: 2nd Edition Modlules, Can you get them? You can certainly find hardcopy D&D stuff for sale and have it shipped to you from many internet sites. Also, there are places you can find D&D stuff in pdf format that you can pay to download. PLEASE check the thread at the top of this board titled "Where to find OOP books on the internet". Many sources are listed there where you can get what you're looking for, so I'm not going to spell them out in this thread. I remember several modules that were really cool, the modules I'm referring too are the ones where the adventurers go on a series of missions to rid the lands of Giants for the common town folk that's in the area and they hire the group of adventurers to go after the Giants and arid the lands of them. The series you are referring to is known as G1-3 Against the Giants. There are other modules that went along with that series; D1-2 Decent into the Depths of the Earth, D3 Vault of the Drow, and Q1 Queen of the Demonweb pits. There was also a megamodule GDQ1-7 Queen of the Spiders that combined G1-3, D1-2, D3, and Q1 together into one book. Once you start looking for this module on the net, I'm sure you'll come across other classics like A1-4 Against the Slavers as well which will jog your memory. Good luck in finding stuff! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : Halaster-Blackcloak Date : 08-23-04 04:19 AM I should probably mention that those are all 1E modules, not 2E modules. Just to keep the record clear. :) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : Algolei Date : 08-23-04 05:46 AM There was also the 2E "re-release" (more like an expanded version)--what was it called?--Against the Giants, something like that? Oh hang on, I own the dang thing, it's just not where it's supposed to be. Ah, found it! Against the Giants -- the Liberation of Geoff. Silver Anniversary edition. It made interesting reading, although I haven't played/DMed it. There are still module conversions to 3E at ENWorld, too: http://66.34.111.89/Eric/3econversionsdocs.htm I don't know how good their conversions are, but it seems like an interesting place to start looking. :) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : 41 Date : 08-23-04 07:22 AM Well, all this info is excellent, especially the link! Now all I half to do is find them once again. I can't thank you all enough for the info and input!
