I wnat to incorporate some exhaustion rules for my group which states: - A combatant can only fight as much as rounds as his/she/its constitution value is. After that number of rounds the combatant becomes exhausted and must rest at least one round for any round exceeding his/she/its constitution value. After resting (doing nothing) he can carry on fighting as much rounds as he/she/it has rested. Proficiences, abilities or items which are intended to increase constitution or help to avoid exhaustion (Endurance) should be aplied. I think this is good to use, but the only problem I have is that most of the monsters which are involved in fighting got no constitution value in the monster entry, so it is not easy to generate a constitution value for those monsters. Any other ideas? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : Torack Date : 10-16-04 05:13 AM You could try the time element, or you could give them a penalty to an attack roll after x number of rounds... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : avenger2003 Date : 10-19-04 04:41 PM Hi there! I use the same rule as you do, my players like the fact that they can't go on fighting like the Energizer bunny! This also makes Con to be more than a HP booster... For monsters, I assign them a Con value. Ex- Orc: 9-11 Con For others, I look at the creature in question and compare it against the group. Is this creature as strong or stronger than them? If so, give it a high Con. If not, give it a Con more in-line with the group's average Con. Of course, there are exceptions to the rule, but you can handle these on a case-by-case basis.(this keeps the PCs from getting too confident) Good Gaming! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : RobertFisher Date : 10-20-04 01:05 PM I think this is good to use, but the only problem I have is that most of the monsters which are involved in fighting got no constitution value in the monster entry, so it is not easy to generate a constitution value for those monsters. Not a problem. Monsters don't use the same to hit tables either. That's just one example of how monsters & PCs don't follow the same rules. For "PCish" monsters, assign Con values ad hoc. e.g. Average goblin has an 8. This goblin has a 12, & that goblin has a 4. For other monsters, ignore the rule. They're monsters. :) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : MadBall Date : 10-21-04 11:31 AM @avenger2003: Its interesting to hear that someone came up with the same idea. :-) @RobertFisher: Yep, lets improvise... :D -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:16 AM.
