I am planning a long adventure where the group must uncover an artifact which is divided into 5 pieces: The Blades of Ochir Naal (Sea of Fallen Stars, page 21). The location where the adventurers must travel to are: Maztica Skullport Calimshan Hmur Plateau (under water!) Toralupiir (under water?) The problem is that I have no material of Toralupiir. Does anyone know where this is located? It must be some under water city... It is far away from the Hmur Plateau? Can it be combined easily? I have searched my books but can not find any clue of Toralupiir? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : Hiryu Date : 10-14-04 06:21 PM I don't think I have ever seen any Forgotten Realms material detailing this area. However, you can always take the helm of the campaign world and create it as you see fit. (maybe even make it the climax of the adventure) Since you have no sources to base it on, maybe you could appeal to the player's psyche instead, turning Toralupiir into some sort of forgotten city, swallowed by the waves and which is only hinted at in obscure legends. Somewhat akin to the Atlantis myth. Then you just need to decide where it is, how to find it and what to put there. I guess all of that depends on what flavor you want to give. Maybe it's an underground ruin, sacred to sea elves and tritons, or maybe it could even be UNDER the settlements of sea creatures, already covered by the sand. Also, I was just thinking it may not necesarily have to be underwater. Looking at your locations list, you have the following: Maztica - Tropical Jungles and forests Skullport - Underground Calimshan - Desert Hmur Plateau - Underwater Maybe you could make your adventure so every piece of the blade corresponds to a different habitat or climate and place it wherever your little heart desires. Maybe the area where Cormanthyr used to be (lush forest, now the dalelands), the Savage North (Toril's ice caps) or even way high above the sea level, on winged elves' domains. (air? atop an extremely high mountain? a volcano?) Just toy around with the idea and have fun with it. Whenever I need a location with no source material I can use or that I don't have available at the time, I make it from scratch to make it fit my FR campaign. (needless to say, my version of FR is quite full of custom changes) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : MadBall Date : 10-15-04 09:12 AM Yes, you are right. Normally this is exactly the aproach when I create adventures and campaigns. But I am currently very focussed (somehow obsessed... erm) on having a campaing which is as much as possible based on real locations and events of the realms. This adventure is also intended to be played in every possible nature environment. in the heat of a Jungle in the underdark in the desert underwater But maybe you are right. If I will not be able to find some material about Toralupiir (dang...even Google does not help much) I will change that and let them sport around at the Great Glacier or high up in the North, so I can add winter flavour, thus having all environments included. Thanks for the input... but I am still very eager to find something about Toralupiir (sniff)... BTW anyone every played under water adventures? I am currently reading "Sea of fallen Stars" and its sound very very interesting to have an underwater campaign... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : MadBall Date : 10-21-04 11:35 AM I got it! The all shiny 'Faerunian People & Places' Forum (3rd ed.... yeech!) helped me out... see http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=324442 BTW, did you ever noticed that it is most likely, even very possible, though a bit unthinkable, that 3rd ed. Players are maybe just old 2nd ed. players. Think about it! Scary thought! But they helped! I am soooo glad... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:16 AM.
