I have an unopened TSR 200 piece puzzle titled "Pillars of Pentegarn" printed in 1982. Unfortunately, it has been badly damaged/destroyed by the flood from the cracked water line in my basement. The insurance company wants a replacement value for their paperwork. Any idea how much to buy a new one? How much would you have paid for it in good condition if I had put it up for auction? I've searched the web and can't even find mention of it (only the book by Rose Estes) so wonder how many of these puzzles were ever produced. If I can't come up with a supportable value, the insurance company will value it as a small child's puzzle, about $15. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : kangaroo boy Date : 10-14-04 11:09 PM I just had a look on a popular internet auction site and saw that most Dungeons and Dragons puzzles are not fetching high prices... A 1000 piece puzzle from 1983 sold for $5.00, so I'd say they are not in demand as collectors items. I'd say the $15 offer from the insurance company is propably a little generous. Of course, I could be wrong and others will post if I am! -kb -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : TamaraG Date : 10-14-04 11:40 PM Thread Title : Thanks for pricing info Thanks for the info. By the way, what sites did you look up? I have other items I wanted to offer for auction and it would be nice to know what prices they might go for. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : kangaroo boy Date : 10-15-04 12:53 AM try eBay and remember to search for listings that have ended as well as current auctions. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : rogueattorney Date : 10-15-04 10:58 AM TamaraG: http://www.acaeum.com/ Check out that web site. It has pretty accurate listings for a bunch of old D&D stuff. If it's not listed, check out their forum. It's where all the hard core collectors hang out. They'll probably be able to give you a decent appraisal.
