Thread Title : Artifacts

At the last AD&D game session I was at the group I am in had to fight off a blue-green dragon. We found its treasure and also its nest. Under its nest I uncovered a book that was bound in blue scales and had metal pages in it. It weighs about 80 lbs. We also found in the pile of treasure a chest containing six orbs each a different color. When we opened the chest up the black orb rose out of the box and flew up to the ceiling. Any one have any idea what these items could be? I was thinking the orbs might be 6 of the orbs of Dragon Kind. Not sure what the book it.

They sound like the inventions of a creative DM - good luck trying to identify them :)
I was thinking "Time to break out the old Legend Lore", but then it occurred to me that consulting with sages on old fabulous treasures might give you some ideas, even if the information won't be reliable...
