Does anyone else think that the RPGA is the charm person effects of what ever is in print or selling? Or are they just WotC servants? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : Varl Date : 12-01-04 12:45 AM Beats me. I only joined to get Polyhedron when it was a periodical on its own, and when it was dangling upside-down from Dungeon's staples. Now, I don't know where it has went to. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : RobertFisher Date : 12-01-04 01:29 PM As I recall, just a couple of years ago they were still hosting Living campaigns for a lot of different game systems. (Although I don't know that any of them were OOP.) Then, they declared that they were dropping anything that wasn't d20 for some odd reason. Since I've lost most of my interest in the d20 system, I lost most of my interest in RPGA. (Ironic that I wasn't a member until so soon before I lost interest.) There are a couple or three other organizations out there trying to do what they think the RPGA should be doing. Don't know how successful they are. Someone mentioned the idea of creating some kind of RPGA-ish organization supporting OOP D&D on Dragonsfoot once. My response (& that of some others, as I recall) was that the DF community fulfilled or could fulfill pretty much any role we might want from such a thing. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : failhelm Date : 12-01-04 01:43 PM As I recall, just a couple of years ago they were still hosting Living campaigns for a lot of different game systems. I've organized something I call the Sophisticated Role Players League - but it doesn't facilitate games like RPGA nor is it very big yet. My focus is in developing and sharing existing projects accross the globe. Once I get a real domain I'll post more, for now its just a yahoo group called SRPL my local crew and some other gamers belong, I've posted my Shadowrun, Earthdawn, and some AD&D stuff on there so far, everything from databases, to spreadsheets, and top quality character sheets. I would support an organization that supported role-playing games, not just one company, if you know what I mean. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : failhelm Date : 12-02-04 04:41 PM I just realized that I probably should have posted this on a non-oop supporting board. Since most all of us prob aren't RPGA members for obvious reasons...doh! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:16 AM.
