Just began a D&D next playtest campaign, and to use a new (for me and my group) scenario I decided to use Mystara. Now, looking at the Gazetteer of Rockhome, it says that the population is of 500,000 dwarves at 1000 AC, and on the Almanac I it's 1,000,000 at 1010 AC. A 100% growth seems odd. Is there any place where it says why this growth, or is just an inconsistency? Just wondering.

Well its +100% over 10 years...so that's +10% per year. So you know...Things happen in the dark.

If you really want to get concerned about the Gazetteer Gnomes lived with the old dwarves for a thousand years (interbreeding) before  Kaygar dumped some Old (pure blood) Dwarves in the Hollow World and populated Rock home with 'Dwarves' modified to cope with magic and radiation - dwarves who are basically racist isolationists. So Kaygar is the immortal of Racial Purity.
