Most of these guys love pirates and pirate lore, so I want to center a campaign around that theme. In the Realms, in or near Waterdeep. My question(s): Are there any pre-done modules or accessories that are so themed? I know the Slaver's series is close, and I'll probably use those when they get to sufficient level, but for now, they are all just starting out at level 1. Also, any ideas on where to take this campaign? Just to start, they will be exploring a mysterious ship that supposedly sank several years ago, that has now washed up on shore near Waterdeep. The mystery is really in the secret cargo and the forces at work that were trying to steal it. Which leads to my BBEG wizard, but other adventures must be had, and any ideas are much welcome. Thanks! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : Wyrmbane Date : 01-26-05 09:03 PM I can't think of one right off the top of my head, but why not run Temple of Elemental Evil? It leads straight into the Slavers. How far you go with the series after that you can decide later. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : Torack Date : 01-27-05 04:46 AM I think you should also consider the U-series. I recall them dealing with ships and pirates too. Another one to consider would be The Ship of Horror from Ravenloft. Also one or two adventures from the X-series might be handy. I seem to recall there being a pirate theme in one of two of them.(X1 - Isle of Dread?) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : 3Man20 Date : 01-27-05 01:53 PM Thread Title : Hadn't thought of Temple of Elemental Evil, great suggestion. I can adapt the Slavers or Temple to Realms with no trouble. Isn't Isle of Dread where you get stranded on an island inhabited by dinosaurs? What is the "U" series? I can usually recognize the title of the old mods, but I never really knew them by their code letter... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : Torack Date : 01-27-05 03:40 PM U-Series: U1 Secret of the Saltmarsh U2 Danger at Dunwater U3 The Final Enemy -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 6] Author : Aliquid Date : 01-27-05 06:53 PM Isn't Isle of Dread where you get stranded on an island inhabited by dinosaurs? Basically yeah... it wasn't a matter of being stranded though, the PCs were encouraged to find and explore the island (for a variety of reasons). Isle of Dread isn't pirate based, but it is Island based, so it could fit into an adventure while on a boat. Various aquatic encounters etc. Another good old island adventure is X8, Drums on Fire Mountain. Again... no pirates, but it would be a good island for your bucaneers to come across. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 7] Author : Kheldren Date : 01-28-05 09:31 AM If you can get (or have got) the Dragon Magaxine CD archive look through the adventures in there. A number were good for piratical type stuff (either for or against). Also if the party is playign pirates, just about any adventure set in a coastal spot can be converted. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 8] Author : 3Man20 Date : 01-28-05 10:06 AM Knowing these guys, they may very well decide to become pirates themselves....but a high seas adventure dealing with pirates would be ideal. I don't have that Dragon Magazine CD, I wonder if there are any good ones in back issues of Dungeon? Thanks for the tips! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 9] Author : richtrickey Date : 02-15-05 09:46 AM Most of these guys love pirates and pirate lore, so I want to center a campaign around that theme. There's a 2nd edition accessory for Forgotten Realms called Pirates of the Fallen Stars. While it's set, obviously, in the sea of fallen stars, it should be easily portable to other seas of Faerun. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 10] Author : 3Man20 Date : 02-17-05 11:25 AM Hey great idea! I had not heard of that accessory before, thanks! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:18 AM.
