According to the article, all discussions here will be deleted on October 29

Time to save whatever files are worth saving.

Where do we go from here?

Mystara forum at The Piazza: http://www.thepiazza.org.uk/bb/viewforum.php?f=3

Mystara Reborn Group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/mystara.reborn

Are there other sites worth mentioning as well?

I'm partial to the Realms, so the following skews in that direction, but I think it's a broad enough list of forums to be of use to everyone. Adapted from my post on the Realms forums:

Here's WotC's closing message: http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/news/wizards-coast-community-forums-be-shut-down

So, you want to talk Realms and D&D...where to go next?

There's www.forum.candlekeep.com. Perks include their ask and answer threads with authors and game designers, and an enormous storehouse of Realms information on the main website, including an up to date product catalog: www.candlekeep.com.

ENWorld is about the best run and moderated gaming website out there: www.enworld.org.

RPG.net's forums have some interesting "Let's Read" threads that cover Realms sourcebooks from cover to cover: http://www.rpg.net/.

Oh, also The Piazza, which has a marvelous forum space dedicated to old campaign worlds. From Blackmoor to Talislanta, you'll find it there. They discuss new campaign worlds and currently published campaign worlds, so in addition to the Realms you'll find Eberron and Nentir Vale discussions there as well.

Oh, and the Piazza has rolled out the welcome mat to WotC forum refugees.

What's the old saying? Those who wander are not lost.

See you around the interwebs.

Edit: If you join up at Candlekeep, be sure to introduce yourself. And tell them Miscellany sent you.

Edit #2: If you have content on the WotC forums you'd like to save, EN World has started a new forum to dump content into and sort out later: http://www.enworld.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?538-WotC-Emergency-Evacuation-Lifeboat
