Opaque. translucent, metal, etc.......I was looking at my translucent dice, they look kind of cheesy.....the d4's are small and cheap looking......I guess I like the opaque ones a little heavier and bigger esp. the d20's....... if anyone has some suggestions on some cool dice let me know..... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : TheDungeonDelver Date : 05-23-05 11:24 AM What do you guys prefer? The best dice you can get for durability and old-school feel are Gamescience. Sharp-edged, hard construction. Plus they make a set of light blue uninked dice that look like the ones that came with the original D&D sets. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : WizO_Paradox Date : 05-23-05 01:42 PM Speckled dice. All the way. www.paradoxdice.com -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : weasel fierce Date : 05-23-05 01:59 PM Im partial to solid, one colour dice, with each die in a separate colour. For D10's, I always use a dark and a light one. The dark one is the 10's, while the light one is the 10's. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : Luz_the_ShieldBearer Date : 05-23-05 03:57 PM I got a full set of dice that are hollow and filled with grey powder. Maybe grafite or something. Pretty sweet. Ive had them for years. Then I got my jumbo dice, all about the size of pool balls. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 6] Author : Tenzhi Date : 05-25-05 03:26 AM I prefer what used to be called "Hi-impact" dice. Fairly light dice with very sharp edges. All the dice I see nowadays have the edges polished and rounded off. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 7] Author : WizzyBlackmore Date : 05-26-05 01:22 AM I've been looking for sharp edged dice...where and what is the brand? High Impact? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 8] Author : chatdemon Date : 05-26-05 02:05 AM I go with white dice with black numbers, exclusively. Most of them are opaque, with a few semi-transparent and one set of the crystal shaped oblong dice that are a sort of swirled, milky color. Don't really have a preference for any manufacturer over another since I buy most of them loose in the bins at the game store and don't know the brand anyway. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 9] Author : Tenzhi Date : 05-26-05 02:09 AM I've been looking for sharp edged dice...where and what is the brand? High Impact? Well, see, that's the problem - I don't remember the brand and it has been over a decade since I've seen any available. The closest I have been able to find is the occasional set of "raw" dice - which is basically unfinished dice with the numbers not painted in and all the casting burrs intact. I believe the Game Science dice DungeonDelver mentioned fall into this category. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 10] Author : Elendur Date : 05-26-05 01:53 PM Game science dice are sharp edged and very nice. They do have numbers in them. I have a d5 from them. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 11] Author : TheDungeonDelver Date : 05-26-05 05:06 PM I've been looking for sharp edged dice...where and what is the brand? Gamescience. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 12] Author : Dugald the Lexicographer Date : 06-13-05 02:39 PM I like the classic shaped dice (not the Crystal Dice) from Crystal Caste (http://www.crystalcaste.com/), though they cost a pretty penny! The Dwarven Metals and the Dwarven Stones ... man, I've been drooling for some of those for ages. But my staples have been a double set of black with red numerals, which I picked up during a Shadowrun phase. They've been solid, and they seem to roll high... :) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 13] Author : Elendur Date : 06-13-05 09:02 PM I missed getting a big honk'n metal d20 from Crystal Caste at GenCon last year. I spotted it in my first pass thru the dealers room, when I went by again a few hours later they were sold out. I won't make that mistake again this year. :plotting: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 14] Author : Aliquid Date : 06-15-05 04:44 PM I have always been amused by the d10 in d10... not amused enough to buy it ;) but amused. It's a clear hollow plastic d10 with a smaller d10 inside it. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 15] Author : Solaris Date : 06-15-05 05:38 PM Small, uniformly opaque pale blue, with white crayon in the numbers. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 16] Author : TheDungeonDelver Date : 06-15-05 07:11 PM Small, uniformly opaque pale blue, with white crayon in the numbers. You can still get those, you know. Nobleknight has a shedload of them - or at least the last time I spoke with 'em. I've got a set now. :) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 17] Author : Aliquid Date : 06-16-05 11:10 AM Small, uniformly opaque pale blue, with white crayon in the numbers.Didn't the set include one red d10? Or am I remembering wrong. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 18] Author : MordainThade Date : 06-22-05 11:26 PM I like the classic shaped dice (not the Crystal Dice) from Crystal Caste (http://www.crystalcaste.com/), though they cost a pretty penny! The Dwarven Metals and the Dwarven Stones ... man, I've been drooling for some of those for ages. I've got the amethyst, opal, obsidian, and clear quartz from this site... I plan on eventually picking up one set of each of the dwarven stones (there were 20, last time I looked), because I am insane. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 19] Author : Eliza_Stormwhisper Date : 06-23-05 10:49 AM I have always been amused by the d10 in d10... not amused enough to buy it ;) but amused. It's a clear hollow plastic d10 with a smaller d10 inside it. I've got one. Excellent for rolling percentile dice. I use the outer die as the tens and the inner as the ones. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:16 AM.
