Has anyone played this since version 3.0 or 3.5? I would dig some advice on updating this to current rules. My current thoughts on how to handle some of the encounters is thus— (1st encounter of the game) Brigands, loads of 'em • 16 brigands are 5th level fighters w/ 25 hp each • 2 brigands are 7th level fighters w/35 hp each I added up all of their HP to get a total of 470 HP. My plan was to then take that number and compare it to current HP totals for 5th level and 7th level fighters and divide the HP respectively, keeping a 5th lvl fighter more in line with what it would be in version 3.5 (approx. 50 HP each). This will reduce the actual number of brigands but keep the HP total the same. Does this sound like a logical way to handle this? I've gone through almost every encounter in Book 1 of Dragon Mountain and have done the same mathmatical madness. The party going into this game consists of only 3 characters all between levels 12-16. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : realmaster Date : 09-09-05 02:39 AM I have been through this and it took A LONG TIME. Please don't ruin it by converting it. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : Cyber-Dave Date : 09-09-05 09:24 AM Actually, a 5th level fighter will have an average HP of 30 before adding his con ADJ. A 7th level fighter would have an average HP of 45 before adding his con ADJ. And nothing is ruined by a conversion so long as you take the time to convert something properly. There was some great 2nd edition material out there... there is no reason not to use it in 3rd or 3.5. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : snakeheadfish33 Date : 09-09-05 09:51 AM Ran the first session this past Wednesday. Was fun. The conversion is slow going but seems to be working out fine. There are some encounters that are a bit more tricky, such as the Water Fiend. Not sure what to swap him out for. My group uses miniatures for everything and I have a water dragon Ral Partha released years ago. The Oriental Handbook has a water dragon in it that I was thinking of converting the creature to. Not sure what else it could be. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : realmaster Date : 10-08-05 05:27 AM I just bought this box set and looking through it brings back a lot of fun memories when I was taking my character through it. :cloud9: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:17 AM.
