I used to play 1st ed. when I was little, and it has since been out of date. I recently found a "parchment" in my collective works about this subject, and it seems to have been my fathers when he was gaming. I was told by my current DM that if I can find anything in print or online, that he would let me include it in the game, since he does favor dragon as our most fought foe. If anyone with knowledge on this subject could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : Wedge_Hammersteel Date : 12-16-05 07:46 PM Try issue 332 (June 2005) Dragon magazine. There is an article titled Cutting Up the Dragon. From blood to bones, a dragon's value comes not only from its hoard. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : RedWizard Date : 12-17-05 12:43 AM Dragon scales can be made into scale or plate armour that resists the breath weapon type of that dragon. Example would be red dragon scales that are immune to fire. But the person cutting up the hide must know just how to do it or else the benefits are lost. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : Higmorton Date : 12-19-05 09:23 AM Dragons Teeth Fully grown, armed warriors spring up from the soil 1 round after planted. Draconomican p. 83 As it was explained to me, the powers and applicability of any substance relates to the symbolism surrounding that substance and the creature it came from. For example, dragons are able to detect objects that are invisible; thus the eye of dragon might be used in magic that confers the same ability. Dragons are huge and continue to grow throughout their lives; thus the pituitary gland from the base of the dragon's brain might be used in magic that confers growth. There also seems to be symmetry to this symbolism. If the creature wields a certain power, then his blood or bodily parts may prove sovereign in magic that resists that certain power. p.82 The hide of the dragon can be of considerable value to armorers. The smallest piece that can be utilized is three feet on the side. This piece must be free of puncture and slash wounds, and must not be burned or otherwise weakened. _______________________ As I read more. I will post my findings. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:18 AM.
