Started at 12-25-05 07:35 AM by TasunkaWitko Visit at http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=558387 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 1] Author : TasunkaWitko Date : 12-25-05 07:35 AM Thread Title : ALMOST free for the asking..... *TasunkaWitko's note - if i inadvertantly posted this in the wrong forum please accept my apologies. i posted the question of where to post threads like this in the "general d&d forum a couple of days ago, but got no reply. with no reply to my inquiry, my only logical conclusion was to post it in the OOP forum since the entire topic relates to OOP stuff. if this topic belongs in another forum such as the General forum or another, please fell free to move it there. i have a few items that i was able to (partially) rescue from the summer of rain. since i am loathe to simply throw them out, i am offering them to whomever might want them. most of these books do have some water damage (warped pages and/or covers, a bit of dusty green mold, paperback covers slipping or tearing, etc) but are still very readable and useable. most of the internal pages are a mixture of old-newspaper yellow, mouldy green, slightly reddish/brown from the inevitable staple rusting and, surprisingly, white) once agian, as far as i could see, they are completely legible and can be used. they include: a) - found a home b) a fiend folio (major water damage, cover is warped, pages are warped and greenish in parts but still legible and useable. i attempted to dry some in the oven at the lowest setting, but unfortunately two pages in the fiend folio got slightly baked. they are still legible, but look as though they were rescued from a fire sweeping the mage's tower!) c) a book of blank ad&d npc records (discolored by water and slightly warped but useable and possibly slightly collectable in spite of its condition. it appears that only one record sheet is missing (torn out along the perforation) d) a rule book and adventure book (for dm's eyes only) that appear to be circa y2k (wotc) (complete with fold-out map and only slightly damaged but useless to me since i have no use for WotC stuff) e) - found a home. f) an introduction to ad&d box set which appears to be complete except for the missing CD, and is in what i would call PDG condition with no water damage, the box is slightly caved in and the corners are worn, and it has been taped shut and the cut open. this set even has the little miniature figures, but like the items above, it is totally useless to me. g) - found a home. i want to get rid of any or all of this at any price offered plus book-rate shipping and 50 cents for an envelope (if parted-out) or box (if someone wants all of it). i want to make clear that i am not listing this as being in any great condition (in other words, caveat emptor); however, if someone is looking for these books, either as reference material or to fill in missing pieces in a collection, they can certainly be had for a very reasonable price. whoever wants them can either keep them, pass them along to a young reader or possibly replace them with better stuff at a later date and throw them away. i suppose the argument could be made that the warpage and stains make them look archaic and rather "tome-ish," but when i look at them, i can only think of the money i spent purchasing them and then replacing them. anyway, if anyone is interested in these, feel free to PM or email me. merry christmas! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : TasunkaWitko Date : 12-27-05 09:06 PM items "a," "e" and "g" have found a home......the others remain up for grabs! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:18 AM.
