Now I flipped through them and saw, the first one is for 3-6 characters of levels 1-4. I played 2nd edition myself, but how should the SCs survive such an adventure: one encounter is with 3d10 Stirges another with 4 2nd level fighters, a group of 1st level characters does not stand any chance against such foes. Or is there just a translation error in the German version? Should this be something like 3-6 characters of level 4 or something like this. Anyone who played it: Did you modify it? Did your SCs survive? Thanks for your help -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : Caligula Date : 04-02-06 11:18 PM Well, 3-6 PCs levels 1-4 means just that. Not that ALL should be 1st levels. Ofcourse not! try and mix the group between levels 1-4. And the second part is called "The Secret of Spiderhaunt". Not "Tower of Dreams". Are you sure you got that right? Perhaps the German translation is different. Stirges are not that tough! In the 3.5 version they need one round to fix themselves on their target prior to use their blood-drain ability, and while attached they are easy to take out at AC 11 and just a few hitpoints. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : Belfur Date : 04-03-06 03:26 PM Ok, with some higher level PC this could work out. Thanks for the answer. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : Belfur Date : 04-03-06 03:27 PM By the way, they really changed the title for the German translation: "Der Turm der Traeume" ("The tower of dreams") Strange! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : Detrusor Date : 04-19-06 02:45 PM Maybe they thought "Das Geheimnis des Spinnenspuks" sound weird or too artificial in german ;) . -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 6] Author : Glgnfz Date : 04-20-06 05:34 AM wow! an awful lot of germans here... i've played the randal morns a few years ago and my chars where quite weak, too. so when there are 3d10 stirges ("Klesche" ) i simply ruled there were 4 of them and didn't use the dice. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 7] Author : 3Man20 Date : 05-05-06 12:14 PM I ran some characters through these modules about a year ago. Basically, they all started at first level, I ran them through a couple of encounters, and pretty much started them through the Randal Morn series right before they hit 2nd level, and it worked out great. I had 4 characters in the group (a Druid, 2 Fighters, and a Thief) and they all made it through the whole series, ending up at 4th level when it was all said and done. The encounters work well, you may have to modify the number of beasties, but otherwise it works. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 8] Author : Vanamir Date : 05-09-06 01:57 PM When they write 3-6 characters with levels 1-4 then of course it is assumed that the characters are on the high level range of the spectrum for a small party and lower level for a big party. Often there is a suggestion for the total levels of the PCs but i don't know if they give any for the Randal Morn Trilogy. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 9] Author : diaglo Date : 05-10-06 09:10 AM and for some help with fleshing out the adventures make sure to go here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/downloads they have the volo's guides to the dalelands, the north, and cormyr for free legally. plus a couple other adventures. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:16 AM.
