It's so old, it seems, that the Abyss grew around it, and it's an entire planar layer in and of itself. Yeah, a draeden, like in the title. So, that's kinda neat. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : Cthulhudrew Date : 06-14-06 01:13 AM Sweet! Does it go into any more detail about the Draeden (personality, stats, anything)? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : havard Date : 06-14-06 04:11 AM I've been thinking about buying this one anyway since it includes several other Deities that also exist on Mystara; Demogorgon, Orcus and Yeenoghu (Ranivorous). A Draeden in there makes it even more likely that I'll buy it! Oh, by the way, the Web enhancement has Demogorgon's aspect: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20060609b Håvard -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : Culture20 Date : 06-14-06 10:27 PM I like what this says about the past nature of the planes; there existed a time when the outer planes were not codified into Law vs. Chaos and Good vs. Evil, before belief of the mortals shaped the planes faster than the will of the Immortals. Draedens, Diaboli and Blackballs, oh my! What's next, someone falls off the edge of sigil and returns as Gareth or Sinbad, back from the Vortex? ;) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : ripvanwormer Date : 06-23-06 05:45 PM Sweet! Does it go into any more detail about the Draeden (personality, stats, anything)? No stats, but there's a fair amount on its personality. Its name is Ulgurshek, and it's a confidant of sorts of Lolth, the Demon Queen of Spiders. It wishes to know what might have happened to others of its kind. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 6] Author : Cthulhudrew Date : 06-23-06 05:53 PM Interesting- Designer James Jacobs also confirmed in a thread on ENWorld (in response to my query) that it's on page 126 of FC. Ulgurshek... hm. Wonder where we can fit him into Mystaran history... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 7] Author : Oloto Date : 06-28-06 02:32 PM I rember that beast. Scarrest thing ever. Dimonds the size of boulders to grind it food. The nastiest AC of any printed monster. Enough Power Points to fry most immortals to a crisp. d100 physical attacks and load of them. The things were so scary most beings couldn't even seen them in their natural form, they would see them a dragon or other frighting image. Super Sweet. There got to be a few old school mystara fans at Wotc. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 8] Author : Oloto Date : 06-28-06 02:36 PM Mystaran History. I think I rember a passage in the Immortal rules that there was a war between them and the immortals some 4 million years before the time mystara is set in. Maybe he was lost durring that conflict and has been cut off from his kind since then. With that kind of age I can see a plane growing around him..her...it??? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 9] Author : havard Date : 06-29-06 10:07 AM Mystaran History. Yes, Ulgrushek would likely be a remenant from the Draeden Immortal war. Perhaps he was severely wounded and hid in the location that would eventually be the plane forming around him (Pyts?). His connection to Llolth could perhaps be translated into an alliance with Arachne Prime?
