What chart/table are you talking about exactly? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : benstundze Date : 06-24-06 02:01 PM DM'sG table 31:creature experience point values and 32 : hit dice value modifiers can some 1 please brack thease down for mt ther to complex  thx :D -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : chatdemon Date : 06-24-06 02:56 PM Ok, not sure what your question is, exactly, but here's a quick explanation of those tables: Table 31: Creature Experience Point Values The Monstrous Manual gives you the xp award for a PC defeating a monster, this chart is intended to show you how those awards are calculated, so you can figure out what the award will be for new monsters, or monsters you find somewhere that don't have the awards given. Example: The PC defeats a creature that has 5 hit dice. He gets 175 xp for it. Now, for monsters with special attacks, defenses, or whatever, you add the modifiers on table 32 to their hit dice before looking them up on table 31. Example: The PC defeats a creature that has 5 hit dice, and it can fly, regenerate and make 4 attacks per round (ouch). Each of these abilities gives it +1, for a total of +3, which is added to its 5 hit dice, for a total of 8. The xp award for an 8 hit dice creature is 650, so that's how many xp the PC gets for defeating the creature. The "1-1" and "3+1" type things on table 31 are used if the Monstrous Manual lists a creature as having 3+1 hit dice (meaning their hit points are 3d8+1, for example) or whatever. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : benstundze Date : 06-24-06 03:21 PM okthat helps thx now if there are 30 orks and 4 players(all lvl 1) druid (with 3 spells)no animal fighterx2 theaf and thay kill 8 befor 3 die and the rogue hides then thay make it to town and rezzes how whould you award the xp? the same party attecks the same orks (22 left)thay kill 11 befor 1 dies and 2 ko'd so thay go back to town and rezz so how whould you aword xp? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 6] Author : chatdemon Date : 06-24-06 03:33 PM okthat helps thx now if there are 30 orks and 4 players(all lvl 1) druid (with 3 spells)no animal fighterx2 theaf and thay kill 8 befor 3 die and the rogue hides then thay make it to town and rezzes how whould you award the xp? the same party attecks the same orks (22 left)thay kill 11 befor 1 dies and 2 ko'd so thay go back to town and rezz so how whould you aword xp? Orcs are 15xp each (1 hit dice creature) They killed 19 of them, 19x15=285xp My house rule is that if your character dies (and is raised/ressurected) at any time during the session, you get no xp for that section. So assuming the 1 guy that survived the first combat is not the guy who died in the second, he gets all the xp, 285. If you decide to be nice and let everyone have xp, I'd say just split it equally, rounding up: 285/4=72 xp each. I find it easier to just keep a running total of xp for the night (or session, maybe you dont play at night :P ) and divide it equally between survivors at the end. Trying to track who got xp for each combat because of death and raising is a pain. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 7] Author : benstundze Date : 06-24-06 03:48 PM ok thx that clers thinds up for me sarry 1 more hehe can a druid charm a living moving animal like plant? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 8] Author : benstundze Date : 07-11-06 02:48 PM hummmm -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 9] Author : benstundze Date : 07-13-06 01:04 AM well thx -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 10] Author : weasel fierce Date : 07-22-06 12:15 PM failing that, just look in the Monster manual. It gives you the calculated XP for the critters. The chart is really just for, if your making your own critters -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:17 AM.
