HI! I am italian and I wonder why Wizard of the Coast doesn't give the permission to translate, print and sell all the books of the old version(the boxed set) of D&D. I mean, the Immortal set, the Gazetters, Blackmoor, Hollow world, and all the modules that the Italian Editor,in nineties, didn't translate. These books are out of print since many years...most of them are available in pdf format...then, why not to allow a reprint of them in italian, just for the joy of collectors??? Could someone that works in WOTC tell me the reason??? Thanks Luca -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : chatdemon Date : 06-27-06 09:03 PM HI! Thanks Luca Not an official answer, but a good guess: They don't want to promote systems that could compete with D&D3.5e. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : Agathokles Date : 06-28-06 02:46 AM Not an official answer, but a good guess: They don't want to promote systems that could compete with D&D3.5e. Collectors buy originals, not translated reprints ;) Seriously, have a look at Paizo's website: B1-9 is in their overall top sellers list. OD&D would still be a competitor to 3e, especially in Italy where everyone aged around 30 has played OD&D. Not a big competitor, of course, but a competitor nonetheless. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:17 AM.
