The first is; what is the difference between the 1989 one and the 1995 revised one? (exept the art) Q 2: How high levels does the 2nd ed or the revised one cover? I mean how high do the tables for spell progression go for exampe...? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : khyron1144 Date : 08-08-06 02:37 PM I have the older 2e books, but from what I understand most of the changes were things like cleaning up whatever few typos there may have been and fixing a few of the more obvious glitches, like the Priest bonus spells for high Wisdom giving more spells of some of the higher levels than the lower levels. As for levels: I'm on a little firmer ground here. The maximum level possible by 2e PHB standards was 20th. The highest level of Wizard spells was 9th. The highest level of Priest spells was 7th. There were at least two books upgrading this: DM's Option: High Level Campaigns for AD&D in general and Dragon Kings for the Dark Sun setting in particular. Both included some kind of rules for 10th level spells and advancement tables beyond 20th level. Dragon Kings since it is tied into the highly different Dark Sun setting was a little different, with the assumption that really high level wizards turn into dragon-like monster things. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : Vampirelord Date : 08-08-06 02:47 PM I have the older 2e books, but from what I understand most of the changes were things like cleaning up whatever few typos there may have been and fixing a few of the more obvious glitches, like the Priest bonus spells for high Wisdom giving more spells of some of the higher levels than the lower levels. Ok, I know it has up to 9th level wizard spells and 7th level priest spells, but I was actually wondering how high the progression charts go, but as you said the max level is 20 I guess they all go up to 20. How high level can you be in the "high level campaigns" book then? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : khyron1144 Date : 08-08-06 02:52 PM How high level can you be in the "high level campaigns" book then? I don't have it immediately at my fingertips, but I believe 30th level. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : Vampirelord Date : 08-08-06 03:20 PM I don't have it immediately at my fingertips, but I believe 30th level. Yeah, I looked it up and it seems it is level 30 max. Is there any other book that increases levels? How high goes Dragon Kings? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 6] Author : oralpain Date : 08-08-06 07:38 PM Forgotten Realms material set the limit at 40, and several of the complete handbooks allowed for unlimited advancement. "Dragon Kings" and DM's "Option: High Level Campaigns", both stopped at 30. Personally, I like a hard limit at around 30. High Level Campaings describes such a level as the pinnacle of mortal creatures. The only advancement after that is divine ascension. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 7] Author : Evergreen_Aldaron Date : 08-09-06 08:49 AM Forgotten Realms material set the limit at 40, and several of the complete handbooks allowed for unlimited advancement. The path to Quasi-deity or some sort of divine acsension is next. If it means that much to you, just extrapolate the tables on your own. Shouldn't be too difficult. After all, it's your game. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 8] Author : Vampirelord Date : 08-09-06 08:57 AM Alright, thx for the replies guys. Think I will go get that high-level campaign book. :) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:18 AM.
