There may be a number of them, but a FR monk is described in the back of F&A. They aren't much like the 1e monk, though. For instance, as a sub-class of Priests, 2e FR monks can cast spells. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : Bertuccio Date : 09-28-06 08:28 PM Thread Title : Re: monks in 2ed The Monk class also appears in Players Option: Spells and Powers It's basically a cleric with access to the more "esoteric" spheres like Thought and Numbers instead of the traditional ones and unarmoured AC bonus, and hand-to-hand combat abilities. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : GreyLord Date : 09-28-06 09:10 PM Thread Title : Re: monks in 2ed The Monk class also appears in Players Option: Spells and Powers It's basically a cleric with access to the more "esoteric" spheres like Thought and Numbers instead of the traditional ones and unarmoured AC bonus, and hand-to-hand combat abilities. Yep, I think there's also one in the Complete Priests Handbook? None of them compare to the one's in 1e however, in my opinion. I think we had someone try one out of Spells and Powers once, they stunk big time..IMO of course. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : godless_red Date : 09-28-06 09:22 PM Thread Title : Re: monks in 2ed If you're talking about the kick a*se monks who could jump over small buildings in a single bound and tear apart opponents with their bare hands, then there is a 2nd ed supplement called 'Scarlet Brotherhood' that had the rules for the monk class at the back. I don't have more details on the supplement at hand, but it'd be pretty easy to google the specifics. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 6] Author : godless_red Date : 09-28-06 09:53 PM Thread Title : Re: monks in 2ed Actually, i do have some of the details: Title: The Scarlet Brotherhood Code: TSR No.: 11374 Product Line: Greyhawk Type of Product: Accessory Primary Credit: Release Date: March 1999 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 7] Author : HMSHIELD Date : 09-28-06 10:31 PM Thread Title : Re: monks in 2ed I got "the scarlet brotherhood as a PDF. my e mail is yohn31@hotmail.com..contact me and I will see how to send it to you. It basically converts the 1st edtion monk to a 2nd edition equivelent(which is good in Greyhawk as the other 2nd edition monks in the scarlett brotherhood would get creamed) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 8] Author : urial angel of death Date : 09-28-06 11:04 PM Thread Title : Re: monks in 2ed Thanks but no thanks I have already aquired a PDF copy of the scarlet brotherhood. I can suspend my disbelief plenty well enough for magic, psionics, elemental planes, dragons, and demons, but stuff like quivering palm, is just too big of a joke. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 11] Author : HMSHIELD Date : 09-30-06 10:27 AM Thread Title : Re: monks in 2ed Yeah its a scan but its a good one I can read it fine and there is no problems -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 12] Author : urial angel of death Date : 09-30-06 12:42 PM Thread Title : Re: monks in 2ed Same here HMSHIELD they are of good quality, but sometimes the first letter of words get cut off, and the cover page if far larger than the rest for no real reason. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:18 AM.
