Thread Title : Hollow World and the Plane of Limbo

Just something that cropped on Saturday. A PC was killed and I need ideas on what happens to him before the party manage to revive him. Next session will be a quest to get him back - a trip to Blacklore Valley perhaps. :)

Now as we know, planar travel is blocked in Hollow World, so assuming you are using the Plane of Limbo from Dragon 170(?) what happens to the souls of the dead?

Are they stuck to wander Hollow World?
Perhaps they travel to one of the floating continents?
They make it to Limbo normally, but cannot be called back?
They stream out of the polar openings before entering Limbo?

Any thoughts/ideas?

They make it to Limbo normally, but cannot be called back?

Given that Resurrection and Raise Dead don't work in the Hollow World, I'd say these two work.

Well, it depends on whether souls are affected by the anti-magic core of Mystara's planet. If they aren't affected, they could simply pass through the planet's crust and enter Limbo that way. If they are affected by the anti-magic (which Bruce implied with his theory that souls are composed of Energy and Thought in some Dragon issue), then their only way out of the Hollow World is through the Sun, which is a portal to the Elemental Plane of Fire. The Blood Brethren Trilogy also had a scene with souls floating towards the sun, though I cannot remember if that was a general trait of the HW or just a result of the fact that these were the souls of those sacrificed by the Azcans.
