The question is, how does this work for multi-class characters? Say a fighter/thief was using the ranger tracking ability, what would be his XP penalty? Would it be -5% to fighter XP and -0% to thief XP, -5%/-5%, or -5%/-10%? What about a MU/thief using the fighter hit die for his thief class only? Would it be -0% to MU XP and -10% to thief XP, -10%/-10%, or -50%/-10%? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : GoriceXII Date : 01-20-07 03:18 PM Thread Title : Re: Opinions needed on 0-level character rules from Greyhawk Adventures I'm not quite sure what you mean...I don't remember it working that way. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : lhmloa Date : 01-22-07 07:18 AM Thread Title : Re: Opinions needed on 0-level character rules from Greyhawk Adventures In GA once a charcter becomes a 1st level character of a given class he then has to pay an XP penalty if he wants to retain skills from another class, or lose them entritely. A thief that learned how to use the fighter HD would need to pay -10% on earned experience points to continue to benefit from the 10-sided HD. If he chooses not to pay the penalty then he loses the ability from the fighter class. So, my questionn was how this penalty is enforced on the XP of a multi-classed MU-thief. The fighter HD is only used for the thief (instead of the d6) class and the MU class still uses the d4. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : Varl Date : 01-23-07 09:50 AM Thread Title : Re: Opinions needed on 0-level character rules from Greyhawk Adventures In GA once a charcter becomes a 1st level character of a given class he then has to pay an XP penalty if he wants to retain skills from another class, or lose them entritely. You could split it (-5%/-5%) or you could make it a variable (-3%/-7%, -8%/-2%, etc. depending on class use). -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : lhmloa Date : 01-25-07 08:03 AM Thread Title : Re: Opinions needed on 0-level character rules from Greyhawk Adventures After thinking it over I think that it will have to be handled on a case by case basis. Something that affects only one of the classes will penalize only that class, i.e. the fighter HD for the thief but not the MU would only penalize the thief XP. Something that affects both classes (such as the barbarian Con bonus) would penalize both classes' XP. Let me know what you think, but I think that's most inline with how the rules were written. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:21 AM.
