I'm making a pretty big deal of it with my mother and at the local Goodwill she found a couple old school D&D box sets. The first looks like a basic game (The NEW Easy to Master! with a huge red dragon on the front). Cool to look at but nothing inside I could use. The other was The Haunted Tower adventure pack in nearly perfect condition! I was shocked. I doubt it was ever played with, all the sheets of minis and map objects were unpunched (I hope you know what I'm saying). Also, it came with three adventures and full color maps to go along with each (or combined into one huge adventure). The maps are just the right size to go with the newer D&D miniatures, which I'm addicted to buying. I'd love to play the adventures but I'm wondering if I should just make up my own adventures to go with the maps or attempt to convert old ones to 3.5? Doesn't seem too difficult (finding the updated versions of monsters, etc.) but is there a site out there with some kind of conversion guidelines or a FAQ? Any tips on doing this from those that have done it before? Thanks! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : Agathokles Date : 04-17-07 02:50 PM Thread Title : Re: The Haunted Tower Conversion The first looks like a basic game (The NEW Easy to Master! with a huge red dragon on the front). Basically, you've to adjust the power level of the various encounters to fit your group. Most monsters you should find in the 3e books. If there are some new monsters in the box (I don't think so, but I haven't it), you can ask on the Mystara board -- some people are converting Mystaran monsters to 3e, and might have already done the work.
