Welcome to the new Dragonlance boards, everyone!

The nice people at WotC has set up this forum for discussion of the world of DL, and the novel boards as a sub-forum. I believe you should be able to reach that forum from the novels page as well.

Kudos to the WizOs on all their hard work.

Woo hoo! New boards!

Of course...they're still not super fast like they were saying they would be. They seem just the same as the old boards. heh heh

However..we do have all these new neat little gadgets and gizmos and stuff.

Anyway...I didn't really have much to say...I just wanted to try out the new boards.

I had major problems trying to log on. First I couldn't find where to actually log in from. And then it appears that both my username and password were 'changed'. Instead of the usual old one derived from my email address, it's now just 'jonesy'. And the password is now case sensitive of all things. Finally, how do I log out? I can't see any way to achieve that seemingly easy task?

Otherwise, looks nice.

It all looks good to me! Of course, now I have to nuke my old bookmarks and add this one to the list. But that was expected.

Cheers,

Yeah, I don't either. I too have been having trouble figuring out how to log out and in (I don't see a log in/log out button)

So...when I switch to the Star Wars board...will it automatically switch me to Snteil? Or will I have to figure out how to log out, then log back in as Snteil?

Well, I got signed in finally. I used to belong to another forum that was set up like this one, but I couldn't ever get the dang thing to keep me logged in from thread to thread. Hopefully, this one will be much better. Nice to see Cam's got a new Avatar.

He does look pretty groovy, doesn't he? Not as swashbuckling as the chicken, but very dynamic.

Watch as other people take it, and I'll get confused with Joe Random Lurker.

It was a littlel tricky trying to log in, wasn't it.
Going to the original message board page selecting a forum then hitting the Wizards.COMmunity Boards link at the top of the page to get to the log in page. Then going back down the Other Role Playing Worlds link.
I guess new doesn't always mean improved. Actually the board looks great, but what about all of the old threads, are they going to be brought back or are they lost forever?

I haven't seen Joe Random Lurker yet, so I think you're fine. :D

The old boards might've swallowed it, but congrats on the Bestiary project, Cam! If you ever want to bounce an idea or two, let me know (yes I'm shameless about getting my name in a DL product) !

Oh yeah...just in case you and Andre missed it (I posted it right before the shut down the old boards...but it's still there).

Just wanted to say congrats to the two of you.

Oh...and by the way...I'm with Rath...nice choice on the avatar...that ol' swashbuckling rooster always weirded me out.

They have kept the old boards with all the old threads online. So we haven't lost them just yet.

Except we have to rejust to a few things that make this improved boards different from the old. I'll think will manage.

It is a little strange that they changed the account names to the nicknames, and my password was changed but I finally got everything back in order. If you go to post a reply there is a link at the top next to your name that says logout if anyone needs to know where to find one. Glad to finally be back on the boards!

Well, howdy all! Here's to no trolling, no flaming, and no rules lawyers!

Oh there's the login/logout button. Funny how this looks exactly like the ENworld boards, except it's not. It's like driving a new car and not finding where the ignition key should go to. :D

Edit: hey check this out: http://boards1.wizards.com/online.php?s=

We don't have the old moderators?
Or we do and they just show you as a member? (stealth moderator, scary)
Or the 'moderator' titles haven't been installed yet?

I've e-mailed WotC about that, and they're fixing it. It was an oversight. Seems we have this problem when the boards have makeovers.

Sigh, it's not an oversight. I HAD everyone set up nice and early. I wasn't thinking, as a second member file tranfer took place unset everything.

It's all one step at a time. The priority was to get the boards up and stable as quickly as possible before worrying about bells and whistles.

I'll be sending an email to you guys soon.

It's all cool, Paradox. It just seems that every time there's a switchover, this happens.

Anyway, shoot us an e-mail once that's taken care of. And thanks for looking into it.

Yeah, that chicken man was kinda, err...freaky, totally not you for sure. LOL

Looks like they've added a quite a few new avatars, but I'm with you, it's nice to have one that not EVERYONE is using. Surprisingly no one has used the Drizzt one I'm currently favoring. :D

I did notice that we had to go back and set everything back up when we came in here. Not too terribly tough though. LOL

(Moderated by: WizO_Paradox, WizO_Paradox)

HAHAHA Looks like Paradox is pulling double duty in the Dragonlance Novels section. I feel for you Paradox, it must be a pain changing over the boards, let alone changing to a WHOLE NEW system. Good luck getting it all switched and back to square.

I saw that. I may be switching my avatar again. I saw that one person was using it earlier...but if I don't see him around (or he gets a new avatar) I'll stick with Soth (it's such a great painting of him).

Other wise...I'll probably switch back to the blue dude in the fedora.

I don't know, there are some new one's that would suit Arek Brimstone better than that guy. There are some pretty cool Knight/Fighter-types in there to choose from. That blue dude in the Indiana Jones knock-off hat just don't scream Rogue Knight to me. LOL

Even though my avatar is a female I think the expression on her face is probably just about right for a kender that has discovered there is a dragon right over the next hill!

Either that or it's just plain scary... LOL

Oh...yeah...see, I wasn't wearing my "fedora" that day we walked around site (although I should have...I burned my forhead) LOL!

Yes...I believe you're right. Now I've never played (or really even seen) CoC d20...but it seems odd that their ghosts have fedoras. heh heh

Hail and suchthings.
I have to say Dragonlance looks like a breathing, living world indeed through all of you people. I'm truly glad I found these boards! At last, a place to speak of all the wonders of Krynn, with real, breathing beings!! We should find an apt name for this community...

... I got it!

Lippo... unlike the old boards you can now set the time to your personal time zone as to not be so confused as to when things happen on the boards.

Just edit the time preferences and off you go!

If it doesnt, why dont you write to Daevedis and tell him how unhappy it made you.

Actually...it does make me rather happy, and I'll be sending him a "thank you." 20 spams in the span of about 5 minutes...if that doesn't get you banned for a nice period of time AB, nothing will.
